I think a 3rd volume of Selected Ambient Works would be.....words can't describe it really. But I would be jumping for joy. There has to be one in the pipeline.

i dunno...I just think that if I had as many fans as rdj has it would just seem right to release all my unreleased material that was of good quality. he boasts about having hours upon hours of unreleased material which surely means there's gotta be some great stuff there, yet it's likely we'll never hear it. which is pretty much why I don't believe that he has so much lying around, and if he does it's probably mostly stuff recorded when he left the tape running in his studio.

IMO

prince also kept on saying this and then when he released all this it was 50% forgettable

before his label limited him on releasing to much and it was good this way

Hi mate.

I agree with you. We know Richard is a prankster and likes telling a few lies. I reckon the story he told about Drukqs was not really true either, about leaving the originals on some minidisc player on a plane so that's the only reason why he released them. I don't buy that at all. When I listen to Drukqs I hear somebody cleaning out the cupboard, a spring clean if you like.

Who really knows, because his interviews are so hard to judge, saying anything about his lifestyle or what he is "thinking" is kind of absurd. I honestly think he basically releases music for money, and if he doesn't need money, he doesn't release that much music. He loves music though, so I could easily see him constantly producing, therefore building up a large collection of jams and tracks. He's already released a lot of music, so I don't think he feels to obligated to give his fans more stuff... besides I think his reclusiveness is a necessary component to his music. If he was a whore and wanted to be in the spot light all the time, we would have probably never gotten Drukqs.

Guest ruiagnelo

I read lots of interviews and stories around about richard and i have no doubt that he lives to make music, he stated in an interview that he is "obsessed with sounds" and said "i will be making sounds until i die". On another interview he said he would put out records so he "didn't have to get a job". The guy really makes music for him, not for selling, not for pleasing fans, but because that's the way he wants to live.

The point is: we are so lucky that he actually released some music, which i believe is just a minority of what he has produced through all these years that we should just accept what eventually is coming (or not) and keep on listening to the tracks that nobody can't takes from us now.

Lets just hope that Steve Beckett really gets on his knees and ask seriously for some new stuff. But lets not create high expectations and then get disappointed.

Meanwhile, we are getting some new autechre and plaid stuff, which is pretty good news.

well according to this http://www.clashmusic.com/feature/big-albums-of-the-next-twelve-months new album might be out in May

How reliable is this clashmusic and where did they get the month May from?

In the same article, they get the name of the Falls new album wrong so I wouldnt put too much hope on the quality of their journalism.
