Hello guys, I'm new here. And already I've got a question:

Does anyone know if the Bleep download of EP7 has got the hidden track as well?

Cheers!

Roland

It doesn't.

Thanks, that's too bad. Anyone know whether the CD will be re-released? Seems to be out of print...

And also, are there different versions to look out for when buying used?

as far as existing prints go, the only one i know of with the hidden track was the official UK warp release. (i only got this one back in the day because i lived in the freakin boonies on dialup and used to order copious quantities of merch straight off warpmart)

the us (reznor's nothing label) release didn't have the hidden track AFAIK.. not sure what other pressings there have been since then, if any

I got my copy of EP7 off ebay a couple of weeks ago and it includes the hidden track. I have tried ripping the CD to my laptop but it does not recognise the hidden track. Anyone know how I can achieve this?

Otherwise, you just gotta find a copy to buy from somewhere...

Provided your drive is capable, you can rip pre-gap tracks with EAC:

Really though, the hidden track is nothing to get excited about. You know how a lot of the tracks on LP5 break down at the end, twisting/inverting/sputtering, etc.? It's pretty much just 6 minutes of that.

Really, the only part of the album I dislike is the intro to Maphive6.1.

Guest kelvanE

for me, this album is the most like Super Nintendo. That Maphive 6.1 is such a cheesy "adventure" score to like Zelda 2, the weird one where you have a side-view. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zelda_II:_The_Adventure_of_Link

the other songs are cool :whistling:

As the CD is out of print, I'll get it from Bleep.

Could anyone upload the hidden track somewhere, even Youtube? Would love to hear it once....

Shit, this reminds me of 2008-2010 Autechre. Or drastically slowed down Cap.IV or Dial

just for the record: i'm on the pro-ep7 side.

it's my favorite AE-release. it's like watching the sketches of some awesome cartoon, instead of the finished work. it's more alive and dynamic, despite it's 'unfinished' state. love it!

That hidden track is proper stunning. I was expecting some half assed throwaway experiment in the vein of the Oversteps Japanese track, but the EP7 track feels like it actually goes places and is well developed. You know, I wouldn't mind an album with loads of this bleak sound design stuff all over it.
