Well, one of them is covering it because the other one is.

they're just doing what we've been doing every time there's an afx gig

 

in my opinion, that pitchfork & fact are covering that track played at the metz gig doesn't make it more genuine that what your own intuition tells you

for me? Autechre played it a few years ago in one of their broadcasts, and I remember first hearing it years ago on what I think was the John Peel show. Been trying to track it down ever since and never have... it's something that's never been released isn't it... :(

Im on AFXs NUTS...this is dope material! Best track I heard in a long while.

metz track = manchester track. Doesn't look like it got the crowd jumping as much though. Surely he must have some new stuff up his sleeve that's a little less sedate?

an album with metz/manchester style tracks would be one of the best late night driving albums ... i especially dig the ambient layering on this one... its basically a combination of a few of his styles... yet it doesn't sound copy and paste... hearing this in cd quality should be a real musical treat
