Autechre Is Autechre out of ideas?

everyone here (and other places) puts confield on a pedestal that i just cannot understand. it's just another part of autechre. their change in direction with confield was fun, but it's not like i adore every track on confield, hell even pen expers is tiring on me a little lately.

don't get me wrong, i think confield is a good album, but i certainly don't think of it as the apex of autechre.

now i bet a bunch of faggots are going to tell me why confield is an objectively better album than untilted/quari/overstabs

edit - i like oversteps/mot but it's still too early for me to decide how i rate it compared to other ae which i have cherished so (too) much over the last few years.

I am happy that they stopped doing this heavily sliced stuff when the sellout of breakcore started

they did it very well but today everyone can do very similar stuff with almost no effort

Are you comparing Untilted to breakcore?

this thread is bollox, Move of ten is the shit and Oversteps is epic and I listen to post Untilted work (inc live) much more than the older stuff

just wait till their kids hit their teens and start fighting with their parents, taking drugs, skipping school and going thru all that teen angst crap. THEN we'll start to see some real hardcore Autechre tracks.

I don't think Ae are out of ideas. But even if they were, they could reuse some of their old ideas and still make interesting and fun music.

Also, if there was a "Are BoC out of ideas?" on the BoC subforum it would get locked almost right away. How has this thread gone on so long?
