Well, that sucked. Those missed penalties are going to haunt Robben and Schweinsteiger. I guess sitting back for the majority of the game is a winning strategy.

I feel badly for Schweinsteiger.

When you are badly outmatched, the catennacio is a very effective strategy and Chelsea executed it brilliantly. Defending is a part of football too.

Agreed. I also agree with whoever posted earlier that the teams Chelsea squeaked by - Napoli, Barcelona, and Bayern - had insanely shit finishing / shit luck.

It was probably 50/50. Chelsea's Italian Lite looked like the genuine article at times, suffocating even half chances and forcing players like Robben and Messi into awkward finishing posture. Then, to be fair, there was a lot of woodwork and braindead fuckups from a baker's dozen. Notably Gomez!

Certainly, a bit of luck was involved that other teams didn't finish clinically - but then might it not be said that the mark of a champion is to finish clinically?

Chelsea had one corner in the final. The Drog showed what it means to be a big game player.

Also - David Luiz needs a longer run-up for his spot kicks lol
