it's hard to keep up with the new features in development the last month or so. it's exciting!

IJeb said there's gonna be a way to find strongholds without cheating.

Pretty handy for us considering weve already found one on our map.

(we need to find a new one to find the new portals ;) )

I just look out for yogcast videos they seem to cover them all now. (updates)

Strongholds.

We know where one is. The wiki says how the other two will be located relative to the position of the others. Somebody good at maths can find the other two. They will be equidistant from the first one. But at opposite ends (so they make a triangle with all sides equal). Surely their chunks have been generated already we just haven't dug underground everywhere yet.

i wish they would just use the pieces from the strongholds and make actual ruins. i saw pictures of ruins when the 1.8 update was being teased but then all we got was ONE per server...

i hope the dragon stuff is the kind of thing where it fun to go out on adventures and say 'lets go the dragons lair and slay him and get his materials and treasure!'

i always wanted there to be some kind of boss cuz itd be a good reason to go out searching for caves and stuff

Gah. I was hoping we'd never have dragons. If they're numerous enough it's going to be like ghasts in the nether, which is the reason no one tries to build in the nether.

I guess we'll see, but I'd much rather have whales. It'd give us a reason to go in the ocean more + we would finally have the lanterns Notch has been talking about since 1.5.

At least the prototype looks cool. I wonder what items they'll give us.

i think this is the most excited ive been for an update in a while, its sad that 1.8 was such a half ass piece of crap but like wow potions magic enchantments cauldrons dragons snow mens mushroom biomes better swamp biomes snow biomes (which shoulda ben in before but whatever) new aether sky world new endermens world new glowy portal material (Which btw im gonna use for something else and its gonna look like a magical crystalline lamp in my texture pack) BABY animals, baby animal breeding, what else

i just hope everything gets seamlessly implemented with the 1.8 stuff somehow. its really sad to have a server thats mostly explored and you have to travel for 10 years just to find some of the new stuff. if that has happened on my server im just gona restart.. we have had a rule not to travel any farther than the 4 basic biomes near the spawn but i have a hunch ppl broke that rule secretly so ..

i agree that dragons seem a bit unimaginative for Minecraft. However, we haven't seen the texture yet. As with ghasts, they're basically just cacodemons from Doom, but at least the texture is intriguingly different, not just your standard red floating eye that shoots fireballs. I hope the dragon is some weird minecrafty-type dragon.
