whats ur biggest heart pumper in minecraft ever?? my was yesterday i was in my house and i went downstairs and theres a CREEPER down there cuz i was digging a 2nd basement and there must not of been enough light. so i freak and run upstairs to the 1st floor but im still scarred so i run up to the loft (2nd floor) then the attick (3rd floor) i didnt run out the front door cuz there was a creeper out there to lol. so i decided to take a peek again down in the 1st/2nd floor and omg that creeper followed me up there and was climbing up the stairs into the loft!!! so with that creeper down there theres no way to excape without busting out. lucky i build the house so u can break the attick window and get onto the roof so i go on the roof and look over to on the other side (opposite window that a busted out) and WTF the creeper now went all the way to the attick!! now im on the roof i cant go any higher up so i need to get down and its a pretty far jump so i builded a some steps down onto the dirt ground (lucky the creeper down there before went away i guess) so now im pretty safe but theres still a creeper in my house!!! but then i think. i know, ill build a tower of tot he side of my house to look in the attick and see what that creepers doing. plus ill do it in front of the window i broke so i can shot it with a arrow!!!! so i build up the tower and see the creeper and he GOES OUT OF THE WINDOW towards me and hits the ground super hard loses most of his HP. now im safe on my tower so i just finish him with 1 arrow and i'm safe whheeewww!!! wow that was intense creeper though

Lava accidents make me freak out like that. When I first started playing and was prone to digging out the block I was standing on. Yea, that caused my first few rage quits. Or digging out a diamond only to watch it fall into lava (that was not visible until the block got removed) and having a brain fart trying to jump in after it. Then flailing around trying to jump back out.

 

Lets see, oh. I ran around with a creeper skin on in Murvetown and about gave everybody a heart attack. Watching ppl jump back and get startled was hilarious.

 

My latest heart-jumping moment was while digging for clay. Yea no biggie right? I'm in water 1 block deep diggin it out. Then all of a sudden the ground caves in underneath me into a deep ravine. The sand there hadn't been disturbed since it was generated so it was still floating. Until I dug out the adjacent clay blocks. I survived the fall, it was pitch dark in a huge ravine and I could hear skeleton and zombie noises. Also I had no torches because I don't really carry them when clay digging. So my escape option, with few hearts left, was to swim back up the water that's now rushing into the ravine. Cept I kept getting shot on the way up so I ended up digging a small hole in a wall halfway up the ravine to hide in until my health refilled. :(

Welp, we can't get to the end.

I think the end is kind more intended for single player, and it's really stupid and poorly made anyway, so no real loss.

Hearing a creeper fall out of a tree or something, then looking behind you and he's not there, then hearing the sizzle.

 

Also, being high in my monochrome texture pack with the 3D setting on whilst wearing 3D glasses in fullscreen mode listening to drones. I remember getting lost in Lumpy's town near Coolville in the old server. It's what inspired me to start Murveton.

Better yet. Since the roof isn't completely covering my temple yet the creepers up there drop down when I'm working at ground level. The fall kills them but they still hiss. Gets me every time.

mine was a lot like this, except slowly falling into a pit of cobwebs... no sword, mobs everywhere. fucking terrifying

You know that time, when you are somewhere in the woods, with no food and one heart left, you know there are mobs around, you're not exactly sure where you are and you are carrying a few stacks of iron or 12 pieces of diamonds. I've had plenty such moments and they were all intense as shit.

Yesterday I had such a moment. And I didn't know that fucking skeletons are now able to shoot underwater. My strategy with hostile mobs when I'm low on health was to swim under them and kill them but now skeletons can shoot underwater. So I died and ragequit.

What tex packs do all you dudes use? Out of curiosity.

 

I've been using the default one most of the time. Though I used to like Doku back when he was still updating it. The textures people have added to it since are ass.

 

 

I found one called Sphax that's pretty cool and has a consistent style to it and doesn't try to look super realistic or anything.

Default forever.

I always use default, I worry too much about how the stuff looks in default when I use texture packs.

re: my remote island

 

Here's a pic of my first sight of the island, from a boat during the night.

What I though was an underwater lava-fall later turned out to be a lava-fall next to a sea-waterfall into a ravine.

 

I built my house on the other side of the island from the NPC village. There turned out to be two trees on the island, I chopped one of them up before I realised that the seeds I had were wheat seeds and not saplings. Fortunately I was able to harvest some sapling seeds from the island's final tree. The tree was near the NPC village and night was falling so I had to shelter in one of their houses.

I happened to notice that they had a wooden floor and I figured they'd probably do ok without it so I gathered it up. They didn't seem particularly annoyed.

 

I found a giant underground ravine, next to a huge abandoned mine/cave complex:

 

Further along from there I was able to divert a stream and then mine the obsidian that had formed underneath. I built a portal in my house and started exploring the nether.

 

After a few misunderstandings with the pigmen I learnt to shelter from the Ghasts and headed in the direction that I figured everyone else's portals would be. I saw signs of previous wanderers everywhere but saw no major structures for a long time. Mountainbiker saved me from starving with a soup recipe (and luckily someone had left some wooden blocks for me to make bowls with). Eventually I found the portal to spacewrecker's island. Kaini met me there, the first live person I had seen in my whole time in the world. But then we both got eaten by zombies on the way to the train station.

 

Since then I've found the main hall in the nether - it was much closer than I realised, but higher up and seperated from my portal by a huge sea of lava. I have now built an enclosed bridge from my portal to the main hall. Head for Mountainbiker's Chapel of Ghouls and seaship (the side tunnel off the main hall) and the bridge to my place is a branch off of there. Follow signs to "Zazens npc friendship island".

 

Parts of the bridge are glass, but Ghasts can't see through glass so don't worry.

 

I'm ready to start building my townhouse in Murvetown soon, which plot should I use?

theres tons of land behind my music box (the wooden cube with coloured wool bits in). It's a big spot too.

Anywhere you want. Try to keep it a few blocks from the road and build a path from the side walk to it. Looks nice that way.

 

I don't even know who hangs out in town anymore, haven't played in ages.

i was playing minecraft today and went into my first discovered ndc village little coolville for the 2nd time today. i didnt go theere since it was 1st discovered and when i did that i went back to my house right away so i didnt explore whats around little coolville

 

anyway i went thru the dessert by little coolvile and then i ran into this thing

 

 

looks like some kinda wierd ridge so i followed it in 1 direction for a while then i found another smaller ndc village (which i call glitch village)

 

 

u can see these houses are like cut in 1/2 and its all effed up. i keep going for a while and think wow this ridge is long its going forever

here u got mountains in 1 side and the ocean in another. this is crazy style

 

 

it cut in 1/2 a big friggin hill

 

and its not just 1 straight line it jig jags around alot (but i think its mostly going south i dunno) as u can see in this pic where it jig jagged thru a mountain ledge

 

 

i found the ridge spitting volcano into the ocean

 

 

and it made like a wall of this mountain lol

 

 

wats wierd here is i didnt make this cobble stone block up there. it must of been someone else on the server who kept it a big secret was it u max?

 

u can find some wierd caves if u look on the ridge underwater. like this cave was on a corner of it and it got WATER WALLS and the water doesnt flow in lol

 

 

the ridge invaded a snow land to

 

 

 

the last pic is on a border between a snow land and a tree land but wats wierd is the snow goes PAST the ridge i guess in minecraft snow can go up to 8 blocks outside of the snow land or something.....

 

anyway i followed this ridge like 3000 blocks now im really far away from my house or anything i hope i can get back ok

that's where the 1.8 beta terrain generation ends, and the 1.0 terrain begins.

They probably didn't bother figuring most people would just start new maps with 1.0.
