we tried it out on fiznuthian's server. Pretty insane. People will die though, a lot. Its very tough and challenging. Massive overhangs make dark spots for mobs everywhere. I like a challenge though, mostly cos ive played it to death.

also you guys are sissies. There are plenty of good biomes on our map, I didn't find a lack of variety, I just couldn't find the red sand/clay cliffs. But I came across pretty much everything else (and have already made portals to some of it).

 

Suit yourself, even if you change to amplified you'll be bored in the same amount of time as if you hadn't, I'll wager. The boredom comes from inside...

Vert, we loaded an amplified jungle seed on my server and couldn't help ourselves to it.
The discussion was raised whether we should stay on this server or transition back to yours. I currently

have 4-5 months worth of free credit to use up on mine. It's currently located in New York, USA and here's the specs:

Oops sorry, the PM was missing the logins.. Yeah like I said if you're paying for your server and want to use it instead go right ahead. We started a map on mine already using an amplified seed (the 'Jungle' world). My server's running on accumulated credit so it's free at the moment and I don't care if we use it or not.

Come to think of it.. lets just play on your server.
No later than 10-15 minutes after I turned mine back on again (granted, without a whitelist) random people started joining.
Pete thought it was the IP being posted here, but I think it has something to do with the host.. I remember this started last time and we were griefed later..
