I'm pretty sure the whole map's been reset. My inventory's empty (which I had full with all my diamonds etc in case we got griefed), and I'm back near spawn

Just logged on and server looks fine as far as I can tell.. No lava and water everywhere like last time.

I posted the video earlier just as an example.. there's people who are bypassing whitelists.

Perhaps I should spend the time setting up some anti-griefing and server protection plugins.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

Re: griefing, I think the last grief was part of a server-wide attack, right? At least I hope so.

 

There have been no official signs of griefing on the new server.

 

Wouldn't one way to get around the problem (assuming it's not a server-wide phenomenon) be to not paste the IP on watmm? Just have some people share it privately, through PMs to trusted members...

So...how did the map get restarted?

 

Also, when we were making maps before fiz, they were always backed up regularly. I take it the new maps aren't backed up? That seems to be the biggest risk. If we had backups, then if they got griefed, we could just revert....

I've decided i'm going to give you guys access to the multicraft panel. I'm also going to remove the address from my signature. I think that's a good idea.. perhaps that's why we keep getting strangers?
Check your PMs in a sec.. Giving access to you lumpy and vert. I know I can trust you guys. If anyone else could use access have at it.

I'm changing the password to something other than my own, feel free to change it but be sure and let me know what it is in case I ever need it. Feel free to start running backups whenever you'd like. You'll also find FTP access information on the panel.

I'm doing this because to be honest i'm a shitty administrator and barely even play. I like keeping the server going but if we're going to deal with attacks and random mischievous game-ruining shit like sudden empty maps i'd rather give some of you more permissions to defend yourselves. I don't think I did anything that would have cleared the entire map.. I ran some /whitelist on, reload, and off commands and rebooted the server once but that's it.

Hey stomach, pete...so I accidentally killed a pigman in the nether, there's now a terminator pigman wearing full diamond armor down there. I would recommend an enchanted bow and arrows, then finish him with a sword. I went to the End and re-enchanted an entirely new set of diamond armor and sword and he killed me a second time, ,so I'm done for now...
