holy crap the new update looks amazing

what's next for this game? fucking hell, i've played it for 4 years. What can be added to it to take it to another level. Ever since I played on a death ban server I have been excited about PVP, All the potions are there purely for PVP.

I definitely want to see some kind of team versus game in minecraft. For example, each team has an island each and the goal is to destroy eachother's beacon. Really cool idea...except it could drag. It could take a real long time. People inevitably leave the game etc.

Its basically a strategy game in minecraft. hah

personally I think they had their chance and blew it. Epic will probably overtake them for this kind of sim, with Fortnite (or someone else will, with something even better).

I agree they need something, though I'd prefer players vs. environment to PVP. They need "events", imo. Meteor showers. Some beast rising from the depths. How about a variation on Noah, where after a certain time the world starts flooding, and the goal is to build some kind of mega ark with some kind of special properties?

How about some kind of instances, where you have to attack a special stronghold on the top of a lava-erupting volcano or something?

I was pretty excited to discover desert and jungle temples, but they both suck. They need to do something like that but way better. a big ass, carefully crafted and non-random experience that can be discovered within the MC world. Using the eyes to find the stronghold to get to the end was a good start, but they should push it further.

Prob is the game is supposed to look retro, which kind of precludes good fighting mechanics.

I would love it if every so often there was a "redmoon" and zombies would swarm your outpost or something.

And as I've already mentioned they blew their chance to become the "virtual legos" company by adding reskinned expansions like "moon minecraft", "pirate minecraft", "city minecraft", "mars Minecraft", "europa minecraft" etc. IMO best possible thing they could do would be to create some well done gravity physics and then allow the users to create spacecraft that actually function and have redstone engines and upgradeable weaponry. Think about it, I think we'd all jizz to work together to build a functional space station that needed to be "pressurized" and have certain conditions in order to make plants grow, etc...

What am I missing out on? machines that make it more efficent to farm crap I don't need.

Don't mean to sound like a dick but thats how i feel about it. I totally get that the actual creation of the machine is the fun part.

looks like the nether's been reset - same thing happened when Brian used to run the server. no biggie really but just keep that in mind next time you load an update / do a backup or whatever

also lumpy do you remember the coords of the spider farm?

Crap! All I did was replace the minecraftserver jar.

No other files should have been modified.. ? Wonder why?

When I was running the server, the Nether resets were due to switching between vanilla and CraftBukkit installs. fiz you running the same type of Minecraft install as before?

yeah everything in the overworld is fine as far as I can tell... I don't think anyone's built in the nether anyway so I'd just leave as is

Oh shit. You're probably right here. When the server went down once I swapped back to default. I was definitely running craftbukkit before. Will it revert if I reactivate it?

Should do. It always use to when I switched back unknowingly anyway.

Pete mentioned the MineZ server - something of a 28 days, survivalist zombie fare - which sounds like a real hoot. I was wondering if anyone was interested in having a go at this next weekend...?

AFAIK it's got some added mechanics and perks like hydration, scattered loot, and stronger mobs so it could be a challenge
