I've been dying to play lately but with work and gf I just haven't had the time.

Thanks guys, looks like I'll be killing the server then. I'll make sure to save the map and I'll put it up on my Dropbox account in case anybody wants to play the map again. Will update soon.

I hope we will reunite someday. Perhaps when minecraft goes virtual reality or something. Super fun times.

So time has passed and WATMM has been disbanded from Minecraft for sometime. First off I apologise for not putting up the earlier Minecraft server map up yet for download, I will try to do so sometime. However, as time has passed, maybe we are missing our Minecraft fix, so would anyone be interested in setting things up on a small scale? As finances are tight, I would not be able to afford as advanced as a server as last time. It'd still be there though for 1-4 people at a time to play, so the offer is still there! If people are interested to get stuff set up again, feel free to post here and let me know!

I would be more than happy to put in for the server costs. Unfortunately I don't believe I have the gear to support a server - to be honest, I don't even know what's involved in setting one up. Nonetheless, I've been itching to get back into minecraft but haven't had any time at all to do so. The redstone update should be coming out soon and I'd love to collaborate on some ridiculous machines with some people who are a bit more technically minded than I.

Maybe we could have like a WATMM Minecraft Paypal account, where we all thrown in a bit of cash into the kitty and then rent out a server that way? I'm not sure if you can do that sort of thing. I might look into renting out an Amazon server this time (think zazen has experience on this? If you come across this please fill us in!) so that I can put the port on 8080 and be able to finally play (it's the only port I can play on here and I don't necessarily fancy getting my internet banned 2 months before handing in a dissertation by using my VPN to connect). I've gotta head off now but I'll report back later!

The servers have been traditionally vanilla, however if people are willing to change from that and install mods then I'm all for it.

Also I know I've asked it before, but is anyone aware of any ways how to connect to a Minecraft server from a proxy that's restricted to port 8080 only WITHOUT tunneling traffic through a VPN? It wont matter too much as I'm moving out in 4 months, but it'd be nice to play whilst I'm here!

Looks like the internet connection here refuses me to connect via SOCKS proxy, which would be the only way to connect. Bummer.

On a related question though, would anybody know how much data Minecraft uses? It's possible I could use my phone as a router and connect using that instead, although as my data usage is limited I'm concerned by how much data it would use. I've heard some people say that it's very low, but just need a confirmation before I start playing regularly if this works!

Strangely my traceroute couldn't even find a host. Yet I am having no problems connecting to the server.

Hm.. Ran a whois on that last host you got a reponse from.. It's owned by Steadfast something or other, the same domain that shows up when I run a whois on the server ip.
