1.4.2 update's out. yay!

pssst Brian, can we get an update?

I'll get on it later tonight, hopefully Craftbukkit is updated as well (think switching between Craftbukkit and vanilla caused problems where stuff in the nether was disappearing).

I just tried it out, new sounds are sweet

www.petergaber.com is where I keep my paintings. I used to have a kinky tumblr, but it exploded.

Knew it, I think there's two saves on the server for the nether. One is for vanilla (which is running now) and one for Craftbukkit (which is what is usually running). Fortunately I did a backup before I updated the server, so nothing has been deleted. Unfortunately Craftbukkit isn't compatible with 1.4.2 atm, so we either have to choose between downgrading the server or using the current nether saves until Craftbukkit is released, which is impossible to predict (there was a blog post today by the Bukkit team pretty much saying it'll be out when it's ready).

If I build in the overworld will that get wiped when Craftbukkit is eventually updated?

Hey I'm down to play again for the Halloween update. What is the server info mine seems to be outdated.

The server address is 37.58.188.114:25575. Make sure to let me know your Minecraft username if you haven't done so already.

It shouldn't do, no. For some reason Craftbukkit seems to treat the nether differently, but the overworld the same. No idea why, but the nether has always been slightly buggy Craftbukkit wise.

Cheers dude! awesome that you fix this stuff man. you still around on the server?

Thanks, unfortunately I can't play on the server where I'm living atm as I have to connect via proxy which only allows connections running through port 80. I would try and connect via VPN but usage is restricted on this connection and the host can't change the server port to 80, so either way I'm pretty buggered.

ok, so yeah, the nether has reverted to a super old version. Strangely, it's reverted to the "alternate" super old version, meaning the following: last time we had a nether error (with the nether reverting to an old version), I started building in the "wrong" version. This new throwback nether shows the changes I made during the last error period several months ago! Meaning it's an "alternate nether", not just outdated. Will it be possible to find a back-up of our more recent nether?

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

I'm just not gonna build anything in the nether until I hear word about this.

On the plus side, because the new update has introduced wither skeletons (whose drops can be used to craft the wither boss), and wither skeletons only spawn in NEW nether fortresses (afaik), the nether map reverting back to an old one means we can trawl the strongholds near spawn for skeletons until this update is fixed.

just an idea, I hope that made sense!

Just to clarify things, when the update for Craftbukkit is released, the nether will go back to the backup with the most builds and back to normal. Just while the server is on vanilla 1.4.2, it runs the vanilla nether, so its not worth building in the nether until I can update again.

Sorry about this guys, it's one of the frustrations trying to run the server when the server client updates run behind the player client.
