It's not really Korn. Johnathan moved back to town so he could raise his kid. His dad tells me he just DJing round now so that's how that happened.

I wish I knew how you came to be in contact with the dad of a singer from a metal band turned dubstep producer.

No not a fan, we just live here in Bakersfield. Smallish town. His dad is on one of the boards for the county and comes in to my morning news show all the time. Love that guy. He used to run Buck Owens recording studio (amongst a thousand other jobs) back in the day and helped get them started.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

I bought 2 Korn albums for 6 euros in... 2008? Issues and Take a Look at the Mirror. Listened to them twice since then...

:cisfor: LOL that explained everything in a nutshell

I've always given Korn a break because they were hilarious in that South Park special, but I dunno, they've always been kind of wtf (showing up in a Monk episode, having one guy go super Christian, and unplugged album/performance special).

Beavis called it long ago:

well to me it's just surprising how dubstep has evolved. it's found a stable and comercial sound that everyone is jumping on. kinda weird, most people expected it to just fade out, no one thought that instead of getting stale and die it would get stale and become mainstream.

ZOMG! Lazerz pew pew pew!!!!11!!1!!!!1!oneone!shift+one!~!!!

lol I fucking KNEW it was a collab with skrillex, it sounds exactly like the drop in "scary monsters & nice sprites". It's well produced though.

^anytime my wife hears a track with that breakbeat, she calls it "powerpuff girl-ish" :emotawesomepm9:

I generally agree with your observation of the presence of "dubstep" at the moment. It's really just that increasingly absurd, mid-range focused, effects-heavy fiddling with synth that's becoming popular. Quality dubstep, whether it's the bass heavy, syncopated sound of London or the second wave of techno crossover stuff is still mostly "underground."

So yeah, I like good 70/140 bpm bass-heavy electronic music at this point. I can't say dubstep anymore and immediately convey what I enjoy listening to. it's joined the club that emo, techno, rock, country and hip-hop reside in because of shitty mainstream music. :whistling:
