Eagerly awaiting Aphex dubstep album

It will never arrive. and if it does it will be all wobble wobble.(and as i stated above, the only good thing about dubstep is the wobble wobble)

OH MAN THOSE WOBBLES ARE SO SICK WITH HIM SCREAMING "SHUT THE FUCK UP" over them.

GWEE GWEE WEEEEEEERRBBB GWAAA

Song in a nutshell. Might as well bitch about the drum sequence never changing, but then I remember I listen to minimal a lot and such and I don't feel like trying hard to write bullshit troll stuff.

jesus fucking christ if you're a journalist of any type you should at LEAST google something before using it as an umbrella term. The first result for electro is a wikipedia article that says exactly what it means, the history of it, and lists all of the best semi well known electro musicians. How god damn hard is that?

coincidentally i just got a dj stingray shirt for free

The "writer" probably used "electro" because it was used in the last Lady Gaga press release he read, and he thought it was short for "electronica" or some bullshit.

That track sounds like a lo-bitrate "dubstep remix" of Linkin Park some teenager uploaded to youtube.

Oh, that's fucking awesome that you got a DJ Stingray shirt. Some contest I assume? Last thing I heard was his FACT mix and that free track he did.

This is why I have trouble telling people what I like. Far too many people think of techno/electronica/electronic/trance/electro/EDM/house/dance as the same thing. In all fairness, I barely know the difference between many types of metal though.

I bought Unknown To The Unknown - Assassin, which has an amazing remix by DJ Stingray on it, and to promote it they sent out free t-shirts with a picture of him and the words "HOW'S MY RAVING?" in the corner to the first 50 people to buy it. I got it in the mail today.

This is fucking terrible. The only even remotely redeeming part is the 24 second chunk that was posted earlier in this thread. Holy shit Korn really knows how to gay up a song these days...

yeah so, um... I'm pretty sure I hate this, and I even like dubstep and enjoy some Skrillex (although I prefer more dark and atmospheric stuff), and early korn wasn't so bad back in the day. But this, this sucks hard

and WOW Skrillex is a goofy lookin motherfucker, makes even Jon Davis look cool

Guest Lube Saibot

It's very funny to me, that right off the bat, he uses the preset "ARP Blade Runner" from Sylenth1, uses it a bit off musically, and the only thing he changes about it is that he makes it sound shittier.

Hats off.

"shut the fuck up, get up!!!!"

this sounds like the music of future-rock bands imagined in the worst of '80s -'90s sci-fi flicks.

Edited by Gocab

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

i think a lot of these type of bands really aren't bothered about genres - they just want to be popular, which I guess kind of goes against everything their fans think they stand for. fucking saps. anyway, when korn started, nu metal was the thing to do if you wanted to be edgey and appeal to the kids (especially in the US). now it's commercial dubstep so they're doing that. they don't care what the genre is as long as it's perceived by their fans to be subvertive and "underground" etc.

korn is just pop music - always has been, always will be. same goes for slipknot et al.

if korn was posing as a huge mainstream act when they first busted on the scene they would have been wearing ripped flannel shirts and playing grunge or had a nice stiff baseball cap and playing west coast gangsta rap.

but im not denying at all what they turned into...

I didn't say they were mainstream pop (but they are definitely pop music) I just said they probably don't really care what kind of music they create so long as it's perceived in a certain way by their target market (impressionable loner teenagers who haven't discovered techno).

were you a korn fan by any chance jules?

I disagree with you based on their last album before this one. The untitled one with this cover:

korn-untitled-2007-front.jpg

Now, this album was a complete pile of shit, but it certainly was NOT created with the idea of trying to be popular or cool or whatever. It's a completely new angle. Only thing is that it's fucking terrible.

Wait, people actually live in Bakersfield?

Ugh. I once had to stop there for directions coming back from Vegas.

That huge slaughterhouse outside of Bakersfield gives me a huge headache. When it comes up on the I-5, I play a game where I see how long I can hold my breath.

Actually, it's not so much a game, I just try to hold my breath for as long as possible.
