Ah well, I'm sure this will open up new avenues for some folks. I originally got in to braindance listening to NIN and realizing my two favorite songs of his were actually by Aphex Twin. It's not the end of the world when music genres you like start to become boring and mainstream. Just listen to the stuff you like.

Neither, it is new age.

new age ( with garage flourishes ) are the roots of modern (ha!) dubstep. See: burial.

I don't really see the point in caring about it. Themes will always be exploited in music, but does it prevent good music from being made? Hardly! I can`t see how good music will ever stop being made.

It's immensely frustrating for sure, when you love something and you want to share it with someone and they have a completely different understanding of the definitions of what it is and their context and experience don't lend themselves to appreciating the things that move you deeply.

I'm a little drunk right now and I hope I'm not coming off as an ass.

It will for a few, but not most. Which is fine, those kind of people listen to shit music anyway. My intro to braindance was similar. didn't seriously listen to electronic music until I was almost in college, and it was after I started listening to the Chemical Brothers. In fact, it was after I head "setting sun" on some old mtv compilation my dad had laying around. I begun browsing allmusic.com and moved on to better things. The Chems have aged ok though...

Oh, it's not that bad. Does anyone really expect Korn to stick to the same sound for their entire career?

I might as well be the dissenting voice in this thread because it's already shaping up into an attack on their fans and not the band itself. I happen to think Korn were one of the more unique metal bands to exist during their heyday. They still may be. If anything that sample may be proof of the mentality that sets them apart.

Then again, I've been out of the loop and have no idea what Korn have been up to for the last eight or so years, so perhaps this combination of metal and dubstep isn't such a novel combination in the context of contemporary music.

This.

Korn used to be pretty awesome, and that clip sounds half-decent. If this album does away with Davis' whiny gay vocals then I'll be into it for sure. Why not eh?

How is this horrible??

The only good thing about dubstep is the wobble wobble sound effect, and this has it.
