Keep wanting to hold down finger on a word in a rl book I'm reading, to get the dictionary definition. Fml

I think I might have set a new record for illness during holidays:

This is the 4th time in a row I've been sick during a holiday.

Fuck this gay earth.

At this rate I'll probably be the first Dane to catch Ebola or some shit.

ive not been ill for 11 years. apart from one bout of mild food poisoning last year. i dont even experience colds as anything more than a blocked up nose.

afaik i usually place all my cum drops on scientifically sterilized glass slides which are carefully frozen and placed in trash cans throughout the city labelled "for women ❤️ alco" with my social security and phone numbers.

My main backup external hard drive was stolen last month, and hasn't yet been replaced. My secondary backup is a clunky old external hard drive with its own power supply. I have been using this lately to store all my music, plus work crap. Power adapter broke yesterday (wires frayed). I have another adapter from an old laptop that fits. This morning I tried running it using this, drive didn't start up, started smelling that lovely burnt circuitry smell...

That's probably all my music I just lost (plus hundreds of GB of work back-up files)

Luckily I have the bulk of it on CD, but still, fuck!

Someone stole my car two days ago. It was parked out in front of my girlfriends place and when I woke up, it was gone. Checked the tow-yards, called the police, chatted with a decently friendly officer, then begrudgingly went to catch the bus.

The dick who stole my car added 1 hour to my daily commute due to busses being shitty in my particular area. Fucking human piece of garbage... The allure of driving a 92' honda accord must have overwhelmed him...

Laptops generally have higher voltage than drives..

The actual disk may still be salvageable if it really needs it ?

Yeh you probably just shorted the circuits on the hard drive controller not the drive itself, take it out and stick it in another enclosure.

Just for the record,

amps are the 'size' of the tube the electricity flows down,so you can have bigger amperage on your lead: (device is 0.5amp your lead/plug is 1amp)

Voltage is the flow of electricity. This Must be exact or things melt, device or plug. (if Device 12v DC, lead/plug 12v DC)

Except, you quote 12v DC there, most devices that run on batteries can accept fluctuating voltages, check the output on a car battery, it fluctuates wildly, and most devices that run offa car batteries can accommodate this happily.

ah ok. Thanks for that clarification. though if it accepts fluctuating voltages it will say on the back, no? i havent got anything that does in my studios

anyway, if it doesnt say, check the manufacturers website/manual to be sure innit

In theory a power supply that has a box on it or the plug transforms the voltage [etc] and will prob put a clean voltage into the synth [or else you'd prob get loads more hum than ever!] and anything that has the transformer inside will probably be happier with a sloppy voltage and or have a voltage switch on it so you don't send UK current into a poor US circuit.

So don't plug your korg into a car battery just yet, even if it says 12v on the back!

Or you may have a 3rd world problem.

My 5 star review rating (consisting of one single 5 star review) on Amazon has now gone, due to someone giving my book 1 out of 5 stars, claiming it's the most boring thing they've ever read...ever. Now I have a 3 star average on US amazon, which will likely never change now. Not to mention my solitary review on UK amazon of 3 stars, from someone who didn't even finish reading.

True, the person who gave me the 1 star rating seems to rate everything low and is marked as mostly unhelpful by other readers, but still...the score is now emblazoned on the wall for all to see. I should just switch to writing Twilight fan fiction.

3/4 of the stuff on my Start Menu has vanished and I've wiped all the previous system restores so can't get it back. Will probably only take about 30 minutes to manually put stuff back again but ..... where did it go :(

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

Sorry to hear that. Hondas built before 1997 apparently *are* irresistible, though:

Yep the drive is very possibly intact, when I get a chance I will get an enclosure for it.

PS sorry about the car blysk! Never had a car nicked, which is quite lucky considering I normally drive ancient piles of crap from the 1990s which could be broken into and hotwired with a paperclip...
