I was looking forward to good Burmese food today and the restaurant is closed. :(

Just made a load of seafood pasta and after eating it realised that the teflon coating in my wok has started to disintegrate and flake away so I've unwillingly ingested a good deal of it. Although upon closer inspection it may not be a fwp; the internet says it can't hurt me so who knows. Still have to get a new wok.

On the plus side, the pasta was ballin'

it's rained in ga like once in the last two months and now wildfires are destroying forests in n georgia, tennessee and north carolina. arson suspected. last update the wildfire was only a couple of miles from my family's little vacation property in nc that my grandma had built in the 70's

fuck people.

^ agreed. I go to a restaurant to eat, not to 'experience'.

Recording solo acoustic guitar by myself is fucking painful.  If I notice the slightest rhythmic deviation or even a hint of a string ringing out that shouldn't be I get furiously angry and have to start all over.  Plus the action on my guitar is unreasonably high, so it is literally painful as well.  This will teach me to write and record a song on a whim...

i'm unsure of buying a used/refrub 2010/2012 12 core mac pro from certain online retailer. i'm hoping to buy my last computer for a good 10 years.

I've started doing exercise (just basic shit, push-ups, sit ups, squats) which I suppose is a fws because I've stuck with my little routine for 4 weeks now and am definitely feeling the benefit, but holy shit, on exercise days (3 days a week) I feel completely done in afterwards. Like, tired to the point of just about being able to get on with my other day-to-day stuff. Tell me this shit gets easier. I think it's partly the cold-ass winter weather as well which means once I sit down in the evening I can just about summon the wherewithal to stand up again.

Hopefully that goes away. Are you getting DOMS still?

I find once I get in a groove with my workouts it's quite the opposite, the release of endorphins and everything associated with exercise usually leave me feeling really good and motivated to do things around the house.

The weather could be a good part of it. I believe seasonal affective disorder to be a real thing, I know I find myself less motivated and maybe even a little depressed during the winter months.

Keep at it though buddy, the workouts will only do you good!

make sure you're eating right as well. if you're feeling smashed afterwards and feel like you're not making any progress after a few weeks, it may be because your diet isn't complementing/supporting the exercise.

^ very good point. Especially since the workouts are a new part of his daily/weekly routine.

Maybe worth toning the workouts down and ramping them up slowly? Maybe going too hard at it? just a thought.

yeah, I've struggled for the last 5-6 years to find the right path to better health cos I always either go too hard and have to back off, or I don't account for other factors like diet etc. it's been quite difficult for me to get right.

I'm in the same boat man. Workout too hard, burnt out for the next few days. Workout too little, not enough results.

Eat like this, not fulfilled but lose weight. Eat like that, happier than a pig in poop but not losing weight.

argh

Haha cheers guys! I generally have a pretty decent diet imo, lots of fruit, porridge, brown rice, home-cooked stuff, not a lot of processed crap, so I don't think that's really the issue. That's actually part of the reason I started exercising in the first place; I'm a pretty slim dude and realised that I could probably be in decent enough physical nick if I just made the effort. I'm never going to be super-ripped or anything but that's not really the goal for me, just to stay trim and feel good. I'm probably not even working out that hard by a lot of people's standards. I reckon my body's still just getting used to actually having to do things other than sit in a chair, walk in the woods and run for trains, lol. Definitely aiming for slow and steady improvement rather than tearing through stuff that's way above my level and then burning out, though.
