learn to make the bean and rice bowls at home. it's the cheapest thing that's good an healthy. there's recipes all over the internet on annoying health blogs.  and you can make a ton of it and reheat it easily. 

 

when you tire of eating it in a bowl then you get some tortillas and roll that into a big burrito w/some chicken or something. easy peasy. 

believe dat, easy to prep & allows you to divert that extra £$£ to things like records, a decent meal out with yer other half, mates or if you drink a hefty supply of ales ;)

 

Bolognese, chilli, all sorts of combos rich in veggies, lob in a tub, sorted

 

same with winter warming soups & broths, do by the vat and fridge em oop, nutrition for when yer body isnt getting as much natural sunlight from shortened day

 

similarly tasty salad bowls with beets, grated carrots, radish & whateverthefuck else takes yer fancy work wonders too

Dude, McD's will slowly kill you if you get hooked on it for too long. It's like putting industrial waste into your system.

 

Making sandwiches is a good start to veering of that deceptively dangerous path. And if you get bored with sandwiches, expand your culinary horizons and learn recipes on YT or elsewhere online. You don't have to cook exotic restaurant quality either. Dishes can be simple, so long as they're nutritious. Baby steps.

 

EDIT: Was probably exaggerating a bit with McD's, but their food can still malignant to your body. Ignatius makes a valid point too, if you'd like to cook but you're on a tight budget. Had to fix up beans and rice myself earlier this week before I got paid this morning.

I really really really really hate every fucking website in existence now must pop up some shit about getting you to sign up for emails or support them here or there's a sale going on or a HUGE WE USE COOKIES banner or fuck me every god damned thing in the world. This is expected on trash sites and porn and crappy blogs and whatnot, but SO many goddamned sites have some form of a pop up and it's just so goddamned annoying.

Brought my car into the shop this weekend, brake line's been leaking fluid and the light's been on. Thought it'd be a minor repair... 

 

Turns out it's a large crack in the brake fluid lines above the fuel tank, meaning they'd have to install a whole new brake line system, and apparently the rear brake rotars a re pretty shot as well. All in all, about $2300 wourth of repair...It's a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe and I'm pretty sure $2300, is more money than the damn car is worth. I know it needs some other minor repairs here and there as well. It's looking like I might end up trading it in for whatever I can get, and looking for another reliable used car.

 

What also kinda sucks, is that I'm nearing the end of my internship period with my current job and I don't know if they're planning to keep me on board or not (I aim to find out this week). I'm kinda hoping they plan to but at the same time I'm not sure I want to stick around for too long even if they do keep me on, I don't exactly enjoy the job and I know there's better opportunities out there.  I was hoping to have a car ready to make myself available for interviews while I job hunted... This is gonna put a pretty big hinderance on that unless I can find a car quick or another job along the bus/train routes.

Damnit, this is how people end up stuck at jobs they hate isn't it?

Walked down to the drugstore (because that's where we keep our post offices around here) only to find it closed because a war happened 100 years ago.  Went to the liquor store 3 days ago, only to find the same thing.  Fuckin' war, man.  When will it end?

last night i looked up pizzagate on youtube, just thought i'd look it up now, i know , just checking what it's all about now i guess i missed the thread on it. anyways, after many videos about it and other child sex trafficking videos i think i'm permanently scarred.

There was some talk radio program about pedophilia playing when my bandmate (who was driving me home) started her car earlier tonight.  After driving about one block she bursted into a musical theatre style song about child abuse and just kept going for like 5 minutes.  It was was really quite spectacular.  I chimed in with the occasional children's choir part, but it was definitely her magnum opus.

how soon are you going?  the tokyo festival of modular is this weekend.. i think it starts thursday.  it'll be fun and probably some good live performances at night.

lol I had a similar issue but I think it was for a different site. Anyway I'm pretty sure there's a way to remove for.com from your history so your browser doesn't autocomplete to that.

I have had an idea for a book I wanted to write for a long time. The main drive for wanting to write it is a final scene, with a character reaching their journey's goal and giving a little speech, which would form the emotional heart of the book. It has never left my brain in all the years since I thought of it, and I have yearned to finally put it down into words. It was my white whale: something I thought I would never catch, and forever chase.

 

Well, in June / July or so, I started writing this yearned-for book in earnest, to actually get to this ending scene and its dialogue, to make it a real thing, to get it out there. And it's gone really well! On Monday, five months later, I come to write this final scene, to put down these words that have been floating in the grey matter for days and months and years and get the scene done, to write this perfect ending to a book I've dreamed about, to achieve it and own it, and...

 

It looks dumb written down. Like, super corny. So I delete it, and hey, the book suddenly feels better. Everything else is fine. Just that one bit that I dreamt of writing is the problem. White whale deleted.

 

So. The main reason I wrote the book after years of thinking about it is the first thing I edit out. Because it's a bit dumb.
