Are you sure? I think 'alongside' just means 'part of the same series of events'. Jonny Greenwood was yesterday.

However, I notice on http://www.polskieradio.pl/9,Dwojka stuff about 'Hibakusha' - Hibakusha are victims of Hiroshima, are they not? As in 'threnody for...'?

WTF? This is Theatrical Scene of Trójka and Trójka is the Third channel, not the second, but I feel like im listening to some theatre play on second one...

The festival, which Reich has described as "one of the best new-music festivals in the world," begins with an Opening Night concert on Sunday featuring three works by Reich—Daniel Variations,Electric Counterpoint, and Music for 18 Musicians—paired with the world premiere of a new work by Polish composer Paweł Mykietyn. Reich will perform in the concert, as will Ensemble Modern, led by conductor Brad Lubman, and special guest Jonny Greenwood, who will perform Electric Counterpoint, a piece originally written for Pat Metheny. The concert will be held in the Electrolytic Tinning Plant of ArcelorMittal Poland in Kraków and will be broadcast live on Polish Radio 2, as will all of the Reich programs in the festival. For more information on the broadcast and to listen in live online at 7:30 PM local time, go to polskieradio.pl.

Jonny Greenwood “Popcorn Superhet Receiver” (2005, Polish premiere)

Krzysztof Penderecki „Canon for Strings” (1962)

Jonny Greenwood “Future Markets” from the „There Will Be Blood” soundtrack (2007, Polish premiere)

Krzysztof Penderecki „Polymorphia” (1961)

Jonny Greenwood “48 Responses to Polymorphia” (2011, world premiere)

Krzysztof Penderecki – conductor

Marek Moś – conductor

Assuming Greenwood was streamed yesterday I don't see why they wouldn't stream Aphex today as well

Regardless, as with most major sets and since this is one with a guarantee of unreleased Aphex, I'd bet everything I have that someone's going to record it.

But it would have been nice to record the stream of a professionally done recording of the concert which I assume is what they'd be streaming.

And it's just the "world premiere" of the two new Aphex tracks or whatever, doesn't necessarily mean it will be the ONLY time he ever plays them. Maybe he'll release them. Typically premiere implies the first look implying further looks after.

Whatever it is I hope it isn't all RDJ's been doing lately.

Something's happening... or at least they're talking about music - BBC Proms just came up so maybe something about Greenwood?

EDIT: They're talking a LOT about the Proms... maybe this is a general "here's what's happening now in classical music" review show? Hopefully not... :\
