The last three tracks played during the DJ set before the proper show, does anyone have IDs for these?

I'm pretty happy that Mr. Aphex is trying some new things and it looks like he's having some fun artistically for once.

That being said, I'm not going to load these tracks up on my iphone any time soon.

Nicely put, and I'd go along with that. A lot of it I skipped through tbh, which seems like blasphemy.

THERE'S the 2 new tracks, ok i'm happy now. great drukqsian/SAW!! vibes. man, so many varieties and genres are being covered in these unreleased tracks he's been teasing us with for the past 5 years or so, there's no doubt he's on top of his game - the forthcoming release(s) are gonna be uuUGE!

Actually that sounds pretty mental!

I'll be honest and say I don't have too much patience with bootleg recordings, for some reason they don't tickle my pickle. I'd rather ignore them and wait........

It kind of different to say Pink Floyds Atom Heart Mother and Deep Purples Concerto for Group & Orchestra.

poor aphex 20 new tracks and a whole orchestra performance can't make his fans happy

even touring the world for years does not help

Touring the world? When has he ever been to the northern east coast of the U.S.? I will most likely never get a chance to see him live..

I was looking forward to hearing some actual coherent tracks. This orchestral masturbation is just not my cup of tea.

I´m soon finished to be the big fan of mr. richard james ; this "new" batch of tracks only gives me minor joy : AFX#2 (Avril 14th remix ) the rest could be outtakes from stanley kubricks the shinning soundtrack.

Some of Penderecki's music has been adapted for film soundtracks. The Shining (1980) features six pieces of Penderecki's music: Utrenja II: Ewangelia, Utrenja II: Kanon Paschy, The Awakening of Jacob, De Natura Sonoris No. 1, De Natura Sonoris No. 2 and Polymorphia

At least you can enjoy the more ambient Avril 14th if you aren't into Tone Clusters.

If you're only hanging out for the 'actual coherent tracks' I hope you never receive satisfaction.

Wicked tracks, no bullshit, pure and confident experimental music. My fav is strings reloaded, closely followed by "AFX #1".

does anyone remember that track from the metz set? can't upload snippet now but it was in the beginning, before the well known unreleased track. it sounded exactly like the first track in this video (and the prepared piano pieces in drukqs). overall, it was just some precussive prep piano with hip-hop-ish drum beats. pretty good actually.

electrically triggered acoustic drum are uncharted territory. I expect more in this area. Can you imagine super fast triplets autechre style with acoustic gear? Processed? A world of sounds awaits

yeah. i only ever liked a couple of his piano fings on drukqs.... but if he had the whole band wired up like that, it'd be a lot more compelling.

It's not uncharted. check Pat Metheny's Robot Orchestra Project, for one.

I guess it gives roadies something to do again, set the kit up for live shows. I can see the point there, providing employment to stoners. heh.
