Hmm I don't see it as a limit, just a decision. Anyway the thing that makes gaarg ms-paints epic is actually my shitty mouse that I'm working with. I used two different for these last ms-paints and they both suck. Another interesting fact is that I'm left handed, while I draw these with my right. Makes everything more exiting, especially the mouse pointer occasionally going in random directions.

Does anyone here follow Red Letter Media? In half in the bag episodes Plinkett's got a picture of a black jesus on the wall and that one owns.

That's odd, because the Catholic church funded a good number of artistic movements.

I find that, as an artist, I can't escape Jesus, even though I'm an atheist. He just keeps popping into my work.

I don't know, maybe cause i was brought up atheist. I always found the imagery tacky if not worse. Akin to a religious version of ronald mcdonald.

Also, the church held back art for centuries by forcing images to be of religious activities and biblical events. When you started getting patrons like the Medici, or the merchants of the Netherlands, things visually got far more interesting.

Maybe i can't see past the icon to the painting underneath, i don't know. But there has been very little illuminated imagery that peaks my aesthetic taste-buds.

And now that I come to think of it, the paintings I really enjoy don't feature Jesus personally, but rather other biblical scenes.

I'm not necessarily trying to say that the church made art better than it would have been otherwise. But I'm not going to say that the church held art back either. All I'll say is that the church influenced art. They were the ones with money who were commissioning artists for a long period of history. So they had a very important influence on the history of art. And this affects me as an artist.

That's all I was saying.
