It seem to be very Hollywood/Vinewood focused, I really hope it will be more like the Boyz N The Hood stuff that was in San Andreas.

I've probably already mentioned that a couple of times in this thread. But the Vinewood setting doens't really interest me at all. I wish Rockstar would just continue "ripping off" old gangster movies like they did in the older titles, I loved that.

The best thing about GTA doing big cities is that you can find the area and setting to suit you. GTAV did well to escalate the storyline from the docklands to Manhattan (in the Ballad of Gay Tony, especially).

Personally, I'm excited to be able to start the game in the hood, demolish my way through Hollywood and then find a countryside retreat to relax in.

I really hope some of the mission structures will be like they where in the TBOGT. The missions in that DLC pack was way superiorer to the main campaign missions in GTA IV. I remember enjoying almost every mission in that DLC pack, which is something that's rare for me in these types of games. I normally don't like racing missions, but there was this one racing mission in TBOGT (can't remember the name of it) that was just fucking nuts... More of that please.

who cares wether a picture of one the loading screens is legit anyway? just gimme the game.

i just bought gta IV, so far im pretty bored, about 3 hours in. i will certainly play this one though simply because vice city was the most computer game based fun ive ever had in my life. i think maybe ive just slightly outgrown repeatedly running over pedestrians though.

Darts is fun for a minute. Bowling, maybe. But drinking is a waste of time. You get a couple of lines of funny dialogue, but meh.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt the social aspect is something they're going to get rid of. It gets you playing mini-games in certain areas and attempts to build rapport between you and the characters. But it's pretty boring. Like a tamagotchi you've got to keep feeding and tending to.

Hopefully the multiplayer function in GTAV will go some way to improving it.

Also, yeah. WATMM Clan?

San Andreas was great, but the whole ghetto thing was unbearable and CJ was a terrible character. Give me San Andreas with upgraded graphics and a better main character and I'll be more than satisfied.

Oh, and that picture up there is sweet looking. I wonder if that's the main character. Looks badass.

Hoping for:

Multiple chars / possible stories

Coop story (a gangster duo would be good enough, more would be great)

Modable massive multiplayer map so SAMP & MTA communities can finally hop to a new game ^^

TB2Tl.jpg

Cover for the newest issue of Gameinformer, that will be made available in a few hours. Apparently, it has a 18-page article on GTA V.

I wonder of that image confirms the whole multiple characters thing.

That cover art hits all the right spots for me, for some reason. A theme that seem to be going on is heists. And the best mission in GTA IV was the heist mission. So I'm starting to feel the hype now.

It's probably going to be like the GTA IV + DLC campaigns, where the 3 protagonists meets up at some point. The guy on the right is most definitely the guy from the trailer (stating the obvious):

  • According to Rockstar, Grand Theft Auto V's Los Santos is bigger than Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto IV combined. Yep. There's wilderness, a military base, and even an ocean floor to explore underwater.
  • You can switch between the game's three main protagonists at "nearly any time."
  • Those three protagonists, by the way, are named Michael, Trevor, and Franklin.
  • Each character has his own personality, skill set, and group of friends to interact with. And the ones you're not controlling will go off and do their own thing.
  • This is the same world as Grand Theft Auto IV and Liberty City, so you might see some recurring characters from those games (just not the major ones, like Niko Bellic). But. Rockstar says this is the "high-definition" world of Grand Theft Auto, so don't expect to see anyone from the PS2-era titles.
  • Remember those randomized dynamic missions in Red Dead Redemption? They're back for GTAV: expect hitchhikers, muggers, and dead bodies, among others.
  • Yes friendships. No romance.
