The Old Man. this started out strong with some really good tension, but by the last 2 episodes had lost its momentum, I was starting to zone out. it's a pretty typical cat and mouse spy thriller, with the bonus of having Jeff Bridges & Lithgow as the leads. those 2 are the main reason to give this a shot.

anyone watch the start of True Detective Night Country? trailer makes it look good but not sure if it’s worth signing up for Max for a couple months or whatever…

Thanks for the reminder I nearly missed that

Just finished Scavengers Reign, which I had to pirate since it's not possible to watch legally over here, great work HBOmax, big brained stuff.

Anyway, absolutely amazing. Loved it. I hope we get more seasons, if not, instant classic. Big round of applause.

Also finished the Curse, which was pretty good, didn't care much for the ending.

Started Odd Taxi, only two episodes in, but this seems really neat.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

I watched the first 7 seasons but stopped watching maybe at the beginning of season 8 because after the whole Negan / Glen thing it was just hard to enjoy the same way. Can someone please spoil the last few seasons of TWD and tell me what happened after? Also, I’m assuming it wasn’t worth continuing (it was just feeling like a super cheese fest) after where I dropped out but let me know if I should have kept watching.

I guess what it kept feeling like was “the good guys find a new gang of bad guys that they eventually have to go to war with and rinse and repeat… but never mind the zombies in the background”.

I realky liked the whole Negan thing, but I didn't like the whole Alpha/Whisperers thing, so made it to season 10 before finally giving up two seasons from the end!

Decet first episode of True Detective, I gave up on s2&3 so hopefully this one maintains standards. S1 was excellent

Yes. Definitely following through, feels like S1.

yeah same here too. elements are there but the tone felt off in a lot of ways & the episode felt hella info-dumpy (probably had 2 or 3 episodes of material crammed into it). was leaning hard on the 'oh lookit all the drama we're setting up!' & too many wannabe horror vibes. the CGI was pretty shit too. i'll see how the next few episodes play out, i signed up for a month so :cat:

Yeah. Definitely somewhat horror-adjacent but not really scary. Homeboy interpretive dancing in the snow didn’t exactly work.
re: cgi… not the best move when the very first scene is built on badly executed cgi concept.

but Jodie Foster

yes and yes

Jodie Foster is great but the other one that played detective Navarro is starting out well too. but at this point i'm not worried about the actors, i'm worried about the story and the direction...

Boy Swallows Universe, first episode was good, about a broken family in Brisbane whose mother and her partner are messing with the smack

was able to get a fast connection in Ushuaia and download "blue eye samurai", "scott pilgrim takes of, pantheon", "scavengers reign" and the other one I can't member the name right now… straight into my new phone, just to end up being mugged into that same night by some local thugs…

currently watching (and very much enjoying) both fargo s5 and the curse

latest season of fargo is def the strangest one yet. almost feels lynchian in certain places. can't yet decide where i'd rank it amongst the others, but so far i'm liking it a lot.

the curse is absolute dream team territory; safdies, nathan fielder, john medeski/opn, etc. immense vibe on this one that i've never really seen done on tv. i love how wonderfully terrible the main characters are!

i have since finished these ^

both very good, but that curse finale was next fuckin level wow

@MaartenVC it's ok bruv...❤️

200$ phone... that's why I never buy expensive ones... only real problem were the pics on it but fortunately I backed them up into my laptop 1 day before...:D

oh and I need a new sim card to be able to use WhatsApp again... will be buying it in the next port, Saul Goodman! 👍

This finale was so good, but also maddening, had to lean forward and yell “Nooo!” 😉 It was really a 10 hour movie, and binging is the way to go.

I think there’s some piss taking involved. Sometimes seems like it’s going to veer hard into some unabashed American flag waving but then the American characters fuck it all up (for all mankind) pretty spectacularly, lol.

For sure. The titanic aspect of series 4 is a good switch. Why the fuck is russia so brown and miserable though? BROWN!!!! and North Korea so repressed and secretive....and the obligatory billionaire vissionary...I'm asking for too much aren't I.

Love on the Spectrum S2. So cute.

Jumped back into the new season of Fargo after taking a break after the second episode. Pretty good but I wish the writers made more of a meal of the black cop. He seems like the most interesting character and actor by far but he has the least amount of screen time and whatever time he has isn’t devoted to developing his own story. Hope that shifts.
