It has some kitsch but the lovely sarcastic undertone is there again and the buildup to the finale is very epic like it was in the 1st one.

I’m mostly curious about Ghost Train because I’m still obsessed with true crime docs. Just watched the 2 part Torso Killer “series” on Hulu. Very interesting case. I saw another doc series about him that was also pretty well done that I strongly recommend watching before watching this new one. 

Impressive visual effects, Apple seems to be all on this one, cool so see the Russells playing the same character.

Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix.

Half way through at the moment and the story is really good, animation is lovely.

Watched ep1  - very silly stuff and russel jnr aint no russel snr - wooden stuff and you got all this stupid music trying to build up tension

hmm.. grew up on the origional series which was amazing and got me into Japanese culture... then i read the James Clavel book it was based on whoch was great but THEN i read th actual biography of the real Samurai William whch was even more amazing and it really didn't need all the melodrama tbh. Im very skeptical of this and it looks all too slick/contrived. Let see...

Keeping the timeline obscured for the entire episode seemed needlessly confusing and counter productive. Are we supposed to remember these people from Godzilla 2014?

Yes, the Monarch series is supposed to tie together all of these movies, plus the Netflix animated series

Currently watching the new season of The Crown. It's gut-wrenching. Very well done. Just watched S6E3 and was floored. Possibly the best episode of the show, so far, imo.

Whether fact or fiction, it's some great tv.

great recommendation. really like the art style and storytelling.

I am still a bit confused if the Samurai is male or female as the voice is by a female speaker and he / she looks quite female but i guess thats all on purpose

Starts off like the film, then diverges completely. Good stuff so far.

I love all the fargo series. So good. 

I tried to get my mom into it... she didn't dig it, too strange she said...

Just saw the first episode. I don’t know. It doesn’t feel like a winner, but I’ll give it another episode or two before I throw in the towel.

s6 has been getting hammered by critics. seems to me like a sudden about-face where they haven't realised that the show's been kind of soapy for at least the last 2-3 seasons, i.e. since it's caught up with more recognisable times (80s onwards). but I can't comment fully til I see it. this is a "mum time" show for me, we watch it when I'm over at her place for weekend biryani.

Nearly finished with Blue Eye Samurai S01. Its much more complex, nuanced and scaled than I was expecting from episode one. really nice
