They've been getting progressively worse since the start, but this one reached 'family guy' levels of low effort.

yeah I think thats the reason:

“I think that’s me in my old age. … I’m letting go of my compulsive aversion to serialization,” Harmon said, chuckling. “I’m letting younger writers who are fans of the show … if they tell me, ‘We need to address evil Morty,’ I believe them. I don’t want to be 49 years old and hitting millennials with my cane in the writer’s room and demanding that we do an episode about a talking yo-yo.”

Harmon said that as he’s allowed younger writers to take more of a lead in the show, he’s been seeing positive results. “That allows me to relax more and more,” he said.

“It’s just fresh blood with more connection to the audience that, at my age and my tax bracket, I’m going to organically become disconnected from,” Harmon said.

“We don’t want to see Rick and Morty episodes about him arguing with his gardener. If we continue that write-what-you-know rule, and I’m in charge of everything, then the show is going to get really boring.”

that was also the season when it got really boring

I kinda lost interest in Rick and Morty as soon as I started seeing like middle aged redneck dudes wearing Rick and Morty t-shirts

Made it thru most of the episodes before it got deleted from HULU, very interesting if somewhat melodramatic in the sound dept. Children of God were the absolutely most cringe, an open pedo cult, but they never mention the celebs that escaped it, whereas the NXIVM cult was intertwined with celebrity scandal. The AR-15 Moonies were the scariest cult, as Sean Moon seems really off his rocker and a completely delusional narcissistic sociopath.

House of usher is good

I’m happy I stuck with it. It has flashes of brilliance with occasionally amazing dialogue and stand out performances, especially with Bruce Greenwood and Carl Lumbly. Honestly though the whole cast I found to have been really solid. It kinda dragged and got a little samey feeling in the middle but just when I felt my attention starting to wane something would draw me back in. It finished very strong as well with those last 2 episodes. Considering the sheer amount of characters, flash backs, horror and mystery elements and all the nods to Poe this could have easily turned into a shit show. Not the case at all. Very well-executed imo and perfect timing for Halloween.

I will say the depth they put into each storyline was pretty eye opening and cool.

Every character had their own little motion picture movie.

I’m on episode 2 of House of Usher. I’m not enthralled, so far. I’ll finish it though.  It’s interesting to see Flanagan’s company of actors expanding. Got a few younger familiar faces from The Midnight Club in this one.

^ just finished Flanegan´s Haunting of Bly Manor which was pretty good. It manages to have a kind of innocent fairy tale vibe, unashamedly whimsical sometimes while going straight for the heart strings using traditional even old fashioned ghost story telling. Either that or they were all just tripping on the gardener´s Moonflower...

think I might give Usher a go, maybe even rewatch Doctor Sleep and Midnight Mass which were both good as I recall. tis the season🎃

Stuck in bed with a stomach bug yesterday. Got to binge the rest of Usher. It was ok.

Still on Cabinet Of Curiosities it's okay, it's very well put together and looks fantastic but most episodes, if not all them fall flat. I'll probably finish it but having said that I've watched 5 episodes now and they have all had a similar impact. The Outside is easy the best so far.

I watched the Panos Cosmatos one because, well, it's Panos Cosmatos. I don't really have any interest in the rest.

Yeah that would be really great- like the technology of avatar but with some psychedelic dark sci-fi tale

I really want to see it, but it's not out here in Europe yet. I'm having some moral quarrels pirating this one.

I guess I'm waiting, so the creators will get something back out of it.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.
