white people can rap fine, i just think that when they try to front as living the hard life on the streets is when the whole illusion collapses. In fact when anybody does this it's hard to take them seriously. If you took mainstream rap at face value you would wrongly assuming that people fronting as gangstas have actually done anything gang related in their lives. To me this is the key problem with how modern rap music has evolved, as kool kieth refers to it as 'mafia shit'. the bar has been raised or lowered to such an extent that now the entry level for being part of the game is having to be gangsta or gangsta like. But its especially embarrassing when a white guy tries to pass himself off this way out of the gates (like eminem)
