I'm pretty sure you're just spamming up the thread now.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

i may be able to offer funding for the pressing of around 100 records or so, maybe more if its really good, to be mailed out and sent to shops, event organizers, and friends.

You often cant press under 300 copies, then when you have those 300 copies you have to convince some distributors to buy some pieces (in fact THEY control labels since at the beginning they won't buy something they don't like -> can't sell + they often want a beautiful sleeve or the product is not sellable, etc etc...). Mailing in shops etc would cost you a fortune, not sure they would try to sell it btw. + find some good artists accepting to gift their tracks otherwise you've got to pay them, in 2012 don't dream too much...).

Well a label is a good idea but without relationships and thrice the funds expected for the only pressing, just forget it, we aren't in 1990 anymore.

Or start a free netlabel but nobody will give a shit either...

Girls don't want to sit around and talk about how much acid they did like 5 years agooo

Well for my sake, at least some girls want to do that. Or drop some proper acid and then talk about how much they did 5 years ago. Haha.

I agree, the current electronic music scene sucks. There was a complexity back in the early 2000's that is lacking. All of the beats are super flat these days, and the sample choices are bizarrely shit.

Rummaged through the Bleep top 100 tracks and thought all of the one's I hadn't already heard (Leyland, Battles, a couple of others) were terrible.

The answer is simple. Most people are too retarded for anything like IDM or classical. They like to have the same bar repeated 100x before moving to a new motif, or just a song with the same shit repeated 100x.

I like Raime.

Phoenecia Demissions was okay. Robert Logan should have a 3rd album out soonish, his stuff can be pretty great. Venetian Snares Fool the Detector ep is the best electronic music of the last 5 years.

Can't think of anything else.

i went through a phase of hating on new music, but i'm trying to stay more open-minded and i'm liking a lot of new stuff i come across. parastrophics is great, ufabulum will be too. NHK has been killin it with consistent quality. the last COH album was great. i loved alva noto's univrs. just checked out lone and he has some real solid tracks. i think yan_g's HSS3i album has some great ideas in it.

shabazz palaces' black up has really grown on me too, i think it's an amazing release. also death grips is really good.

i do think the last few years were kind of awash in a sea of shitty trends (wobble bass, side chaining, pitched up r'n'b samples, etc), but there are always big trends and i usually don't like them so it's really nothing new. bottom line - great music is out there and i can't wait to find more of it.

lone, odan, ochre, kuedo, endless house foundation, sepalcure, machinedrum, th'idiot, steinvord, dave monolith...I can keep going. This is all shit?

Ahh man thank you SO much for mentioning these, just discovered some great new artists there.

This is why i love WATMM :music:

ive grown to like the sound of techno from the last few years so much its actually completely overtaken me and become a full blown obsession. i have to make a constant effort these days to even actually listen to anything else atall,

i feel like im probably missing out on so much other shit, but at the same time i dont even care. its a strange feeling, it reminds me of being 12 and being so into nu-metal that i would actually get butterflies waiting for the new album of an artist i love to come out.

i also feel like 2012 is a good year to be listening to techno.

ive noticed an increasing trend around glasgow, the dubstep/bass-driven artists of the last few years, that have captured the hearts of the hipster and the music lover alike have thrown aside their broken beats and half step dubstep and come bearing straight up solid house and increasingly techno when they come to play live.

and the dubstep/funky fans of the last few years have put aside their usual disdain of a night where it is a solid, consistent and groove -ridden 4/4 beat and come to enjoy this shit, at the hands of the producers theyve been admiring for the last few years

i dont know exactly how its going to go down, but this year is looking pretty interesting.

yeah - i hate that techno musics - what is that even all about - it's totally retarded or something

Monolake is great

Caribou is great

Mesak is great

Jamie Lidell is great

The Books are great

You just need to widen your scope and get over techno and IDM.
