I liked it on first listen and will have to listen again.

Throttle Monolith is like a limited edition amalgamation of songs from previous EP's + some unreleased songs distributed with the first editions of the Japan issue of Iradelphic (from what I understand from a different forum).

I could be wrong though I have read it in a few places. I can't confirm cause I can't find pictures and theres nothing on discogs =(

The EP is limited to only the first 1500 purchases.

Sorry, I cannot upload any tracks. We've been through this before with 'Scintilli'.

However, If you can find a way to check it out, you should do so. 'Lysergic Planes' is something I would have expected on 'Clarence Park' rather than 'Iradelphic'.

Anyone else got the mp3 version of Joseph Nothing's Dummy Variations when buying a physical copy of this album. I think the Bleep robot has got confused ....

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

why are there two damn iradelphic threads. argh.

Seriously. If release threads from featured artists are going to be pinned here, it should be one post with a redirect to the release thread in the artist's subforum. Plain and simple.

Yeah, I can see the logic in that, but the case is these threads get created long before they become popular (in each subforum) and the reason we've started pinning them is because they have become popular. Also, not everyone goes to an artist's subforum to discuss a new release and vice-versa,

I got this too! How bizarre. But I can't seem to download it, and I still haven't got an option to download the Clark album. :-/

Yeah I hear you on the threads existing long before release or even sometimes before official announcement. But maybe as soon as more than one album thread sprouts (so a duplicate thread, even if in a different subforum), put the original in the featured artist subforum (if it's not already there) and pin/lock the other in New Releases with a link to the artist subforum thread.

Wow that's a lot of words for something simple.

Yeah, unfortunately it's just a 0 byte zip so no freebie .... Just hit the 'Contact' link on the left menu of Bleep.com, explain the problem and they'll attach the right album to your account the next day. Well they did for me anyway !

As for my view on the album .... definitely need to hear it a few more times to pass judgement, it's all a bit of a blur in my mind.

5.8 on pitchfork

http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16468-iradelphic/

  Quote
There are moments of gnarled danger on Iradelphic-- the broken tones of "Skyward Bruise/Descent", the passing-train ambience of album closer "Broken Kite Footage"-- but the abundance of tepid, six-string-shuffled numbers give Iradelphic the relative potency of a warm glass of milk.

I'm not a fan of Pitchfork but I think that's a fairly good summary of the album. There are good moments of course but there are many more times when it's really just 'meh'. And then I find myself playing tracks two and three on repeat and ignoring the rest.

Clark gets 5.8 but neon indian gets 8.6.

Proof that pitchfork should not be used for... well anything.

Guest ruiagnelo

just finished giving it a first real listen.

one thing i noticed very clearly is how the first half starts pretty good, building an intention, but then it suddenly drops slightly in the middle. the last half isn't as captivating, which makes the record a little bit incoherent. actually i have had trouble focusing on the last few tracks.

the pining is kind of a pretentious track. sounds like Clark wanted to create a masterpiece, like a tryptic, which we usually see in painting, but i don't see the point of actually separating all the three "parts". it could have been one single track and the transitions should have been worked to deeper detail. ashtray wasp by Burial comes to mind, as it creates such different moments inside a single piece.

It's not that bad for such a new path. the first tracks are very sensory and kinda warm. sounds like it could be the begining of a distinctive sound.

but my problem with the record is that it wants to tell something, but ends up being misunderstood because it isn't trying hard.

but i am new to Clark, so that might be why i don't get it.

On first listen I wasn't particularly impressed with this, but repeated listens have made me appreciate it for the quality album that it is. I prefer the less abrasive Clark tracks, which proably puts me in a minority, Whilst some of the tracks on his earlier releases have interested me, Iradelphic is the one that I enjoy the most tracks off of
