I think it might be in the "things MDG has said" section or whatever, as I don't think WARP nor BoC have stated this "officially" as in a press release or interview.

Checking back the statements from MDG- he hasn't said something now for months. I don't know folks, but I'm pretty tired to wait for any news regarding any new activities. Maybe there is something to come maybe not.

I cut back my hopes for anything BOC-related. The surprise would be bigger when we have something new from them.

He hasn't said anything publicly... that's true. I'm getting a bit concerned we're looking at 2013 at this point, as I can't see how they can make an announcement, gear up for the release with promotional material and sneak previews, etc. all before the end of the year. I guess it can happen though, and probably has in the past. Perhaps they're holding off on announcing anything on purpose to suddenly drop it and end the waiting all at once instead of announcing a date and then, more waiting.

Only a bit?

I have a feeling it will drop from the sky like a meteorite. Boards of Canada don't need to get involved with promotional activities, it's not what they're about. The fact it will just appear as if by magic will in turn get a huge media response. The music world will go nuts when it materializes.

Really?

How do you explain the Geogaddi listening parties, with the blue turquoise hexagons, and the kaleidoscope? I'd say they were promotional activities...

Granted, it's a different time now, what with massive internet proliferation, it would make better sense to (at least try to) keep it all under wraps and just drop it like Skrillex. But because of the innernets and people that can't keep their gobs shut, I'd say it's highly unlikely that a brand new Boards of Canada album would be able to stay under wraps until the day, you know?

If any artist nowadays can keep something under wraps until the last minute, it would be BoC - I would just worry someone at WARP would leak it. Then again, they're not as focused on electronic acts as much these days, so perhaps it would work...

BoC could self-release it too - imaging the mad rush if they only released 1000 copies... Ebay prices would go through the roof!

so is BoC actually just a side project of AE??? for "sample based" music? because the more I listen the more I feel like the music has extremely striking similarities... slow transformations, strange time signatures, "electro"/"hip hop" influence...

LISTEN TO THE SCRATCHING IN the second track on MHTRTC - - - > then listen to the scratching in the first track on Envane

that or Gescom is a collaboration between the two groups

lol, too funny

I've just taken to listening to Freescha and Casino Versus Japan then pretending it's BoC trying out new styles, it's a lot easier.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

That would be unimaginably cruel.

I don't care how long it takes, just as long as it isn't more of that Campfire Headphase bullshit.

Just dropped in to say I hired a couple of goons to kidnap Mike and Marcus, put their feet in cement, and sink them in a loch. I just couldn't bear the suspense any longer, and felt that was the best way to end it. Show's over, you can all go home.

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.
