it would be cool to plot out the member join rates over the years (i doubt joyrex keeps all that info or even cares tho)... i wonder if it strictly relates to years or a certain number of months after a big release or if there is something different going on.

Started this account and one at xltronic on the same day. Never really went back to xltronic. Found both because of RDJ. Also releasing he hasn't released anything during the entire time I've been here.

 

I'm not sure when I started posting more often, but I do recall feeling like less of a lurker when Joyrex responded to my thread about King of The Hill's series finale.

Been lurking since 2009 because I always thought I needed to pay for an account.

2 years later I went on the register page to check again and realised that wasnt true.

I lurked for a long while before registering, and I registered to talk about Quaristice when it was pending release. I think. Also for the original CATS downloads. It's CATS' fault. CATS set up us the baph.

I've known about this place forever, but avoided it for the longest time because my brief encounters with it felt like a fanboy wankfest. I decided to join when I came back a couple of years ago and found out it had degraded into a retarded lolfest with nsfw content. Now I'm not really sure what I'm here for. Routine and procrastination I guess.

I found out about WATMM through my brother and registered mostly because of EKT and YLC. I wanted to join a community of people making good electronic music so I could bounce ideas, learn things and stay sharp as a musician (I used to do that at gearslutz but I got fed up with it). I'm an admirer, but not a massive fanboy of RDJ/autechre/BoC so I don't really hang around much in the featured artists subforums. Eventually I took a liking to post in gen ban every now and then (still very much a part-timer though).

I remember twoism had a surge in registrations around april 1 a few years back when JR did the joke. There has been another bump in new members since the whole pitchfork/boc/facebook comments.

 

I found this place via xltronic, but I never participated in that forum. I found it by searching "aphex twin forum". I'm sure watmm was on the results too I just didn't look past the first hit.
