Yeah that piano is nice. That will pass into legend along with the sandpaper, tank, bank, sleep deprivation etc ...

the spectral software is interesting. you can supposedly recreate any sound with just sine waves. if he had a group of like one hundred flutists he could do live a spectral performance

(since flutes are very close to sine waves)...prbably more complicated to make complex sounds. but you could make saw waves and stuff.

Hmmm, that piano-pendulum piece has got me longing for a proper new Aphex Twin album. I'm thinking about a "build your own home pendulum-piano-piece" btw.

you think the pitch shifting is really all from the doppler effect? Also, any formal musicians know if the piano is in standard tuning?

The shifting weight of the piano affects the tension of the strings.
