Smash bros apparently has a bit of a following with people still playing (at tournaments, at expos and the like). The gamecube controller is still preference for a lot of people. To include this adapter/bundle (a small effort !) is a nice gesture! To not include the adapter would result in backlash, (and fans making their own anyway, id assume). maybe newer games but I would assume getting the gamecube controller to work with previous games would require a bit of extra programming and knowing Nintendo I don't see it happening any time soon.

it'd be nice to see the controller work with Mario Kart 8, at the very least (the more controller options the better. I have a few gamecube controllers laying about and the wii controllers are always running low on battery)

I thought the trailer was very compelling. With the right design and atmosphere it could be outstanding. I really miss good puzzles in action/shooters.

The main thing that trailer made me feel was that I wanted to watch A Beautiful Mind again.

being an xbox exclusive didn't work very well financially for the guys that made RYSE. Apparently if they make a RYSE 2 it won't be an xbox exclusive for the now downsized company.

Probly not, realize the competitive SSB community relies on millisecond timing for competitive play, so they don't use Wavebirds, and they swear that GC controller was made to play that game, some even insist on CRT televisions bc of the response time on GC. The adapter is a result of N shitting their Nippon pants that it won't save their console.

Finished The Last of Us (why isn't there a thread for this game btw?)

 

I would say the first 1/3 of the game was slightly boring I thought, I wasn't really into the characters or the gameplay.

 

But about the final 2/3 of the game was fucking amazing, once you get a handle on the gameplay it's so satisfying. And it took me some time to like the characters, but the further I got into the game I really started to do, and then I was absolutely absorbed in the world and story.

 

Definitely a contender for greatest game I've ever played, no doubt. The beginning could have been better, but that's the only complaint I've got.

Just picked this up, along with The Swapper and Crysis 1+2 on sale. I've played through all of the Crysis games, but thought I'd revisit them since 3 became available on Plus.

 

Hohokum looks amazing, I completely forgot about it until I saw it on the blog a day or so ago. Games like this for the Vita are fine by me.

 

I'm also happy PS4 owners will get the chance to play Tearaway, if you don't have a Vita, play it, it's amazing.

Yeah, Ryse is now coming to PC. I don't mind games made by the company (e.g. Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo) made soley for their console, but the third parties need to stop being lured by the first party's moneybags and realize they'll make more overall if they go multiplatform. Then again, some studios don't have the resources to do all platforms at once, and ironically, the exclusivity money may actually help them realize their game for alternate platforms.

 

They finally admitted that Boob Raider is a "timed" exclusive, but won't say how long. Goes to show you the backlash sometimes proves helpful.

I'm glad, it will clearly sell more on PS4 (because of the install base now), hopefully by the time it reaches, we'll get a definitive edition or something.

Tearaway is delightful on Vita, going by the presentation yesterday it looks like it will lose none of it's charms moving on to the big screen.
