rumor mill is floating Matthew Vaugh as the chosen director for Episode VII, hence he dropped out of X-Men. i could be happy with him at the helm at least for one film.

I fear they'll give it Zack Snyder.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Please god, no.

yes i know he prequels were very shit for many reasons (script, horrible plot, bad acting) but i think a big reason why they sucked is because they were all about the Jedi. Who are frankly (at least when Lucas shows the in full and not just hints at them) boring as fuck characters with no interesting motivation whatsoever. They even made Yoda seem like an idiot in the prequels. Please no more jedi focused stories, or at least just keep them and the sith mysterious like they did in the original trilogy

according to imdb, Kathleen Kennedy the person taking over for Lucas has worked with the following directors before

David Fincher, Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, M. Night Shyamalan, Hayao Miyazaki, Clint Eastwood, Gary Ross, Julian Schnabel, Scott Hicks, Jan de Bont, Frank Marshall, Joe Dante, and Barry Levinson, Robert Zemeckis, Martin Scorsese, Edgar Wright (in a writing capacity for Tin Tin), Joe Johnston

when asked about hiring a new director she responded 'there are many people that sprang to mind i have worked with in the past'

A Miyazaki directed Episode VII would have me in the seats on opening day.

Seems the strongest rumor going around right now is the writer of Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine has finished a treatment for the trilogy. Minus the sentimental ending scene of Toy Story 3 i thought it was a very strong script, by far the best of the 3 and one of the better pixar films. If it's true they already are going in a good direction.

ron paul in his directorial debut

(retconned so that being strong in the force actually refers to having vast quantities of readily-available gold)

Is that Sean Booth in 20 years?

I guess I'm ok with that. Anything over Lucas or Lindelof.

How could Disney buying Star Wars off of Lucas possibly be seen as a bad thing by anyone anywhere ever?

How could anything Disney do possibly be worse than the prequel atrocities Lucas inflicted on the world for the best part of a decade?

Disney can bring in people with talent. Arndt, Whedon. They own pixar. Disney know how to make films.

Perhaps in 20 years time there will be 6 Star Wars films that are remembered with fondness ... and the prequels will be quietly forgotten.

edit: Donating Star Wars Billions Will Make George Lucas One Of The Biggest Givers Ever

Massive props for that though. I can't complain about that.

Zahn's Thrawn trilogy is going to be my episode 7-9.

never read the books, but that whole story arc did sound cool.

Thrawn trilogy would have been cool in theory but it's going to take a lot of work to make the Jedi not boring again. The way George portrayed them in the prequels made them seem like a bunch of impotent boring fools with no actual discernible ideology just randomly pulling from religious code like not being able to 'fall in love' and a bunch of other non nonsensical horse shit. If they do focus on the jedi again they have a lot of work to do in repairing the damage they did to what the Jedi are supposed to be.

besides Annakin skywalker, the Jedi who got the most screen time came off at best as a wooden plank where after 3 whole movies we have really no idea what his motivations are or who the fuck he is besides a young version of Obi wan
