I don't trust the Republican party not to instill some sort of mega-fascist state at some point, and that's why I've always said, "if this happens, we would really wish that we hadn't let them take away our guns."

This is the country whose "liberal" party barely bats an eyelash before signing off on multi-billion dollar contracts for more fighter jets when we already have the planet's biggest military.

this is why you should never trust a politician, even one supposedly on 'your side' to speak out against guns or any issue that you hold in high regard where you want to see change. Going after guns, at this moment in politics is a way to score political points from your democratic followers and to get one over on the republicans. I don't believe for a second that any of these democratic senators or house members would ever take significant steps to squelch the NRA, just like they wouldn't take a significant step to squelch a tobacco company. Guns are too big of an industry

lol @ Piers Morgan, i wish i could find one of his earliest interviews after taking the slot from Larry King where he tried to ask 'challenging' questions to Howard Stern and Stern just verbally body slammed him making him look like a fool, Stern's prediction was that they were giving him big stars in his early days to see how he'd fare and how the public would respond to him and that eventually he'd be interviewing reality TV show stars and people nobody gives a shit about it. He couldn't have been more right.

Just because a teacher has a gun doesn't mean a kid can't get ahold of it, or that a teacher is going to be safe with it, even if they are trained to be.

Ahh, but one teacher did have a gun. She had several.

Her son used them to kill her and everyone else.

The medical examiner has stated that all of the victims were shot more than once and all of them were shot with the "longer gun" - linked below from our good friends at Wal*Mart.

All Connecticut victims shot multiple times

All the victims of the Connecticut elementary school shooting were shot several times at close range from a rifle, said the state's chief medical examiner.

Dr. H. Wayne Carver called it a "very devastating set of injuries" at a news conference on Saturday, where police released a list of the victims. Eight were boys and 12 were girls. All the children were aged 6 or 7.

Six adults, including the school principal, were also killed in the massacre.

Carver himself had examined seven bodies —all were first graders. They had been shot at least three to 11 times, he said.

The examiners asked parents to identify the victims using photos.

There's no reason a citizen should have access to that kind of gun.

You mean, not even to fight off a bunch of six year-olds in a public school?

Well according to gun advocates, in a healthy society all those children would be armed with guns

so yeah

Gun control supporters have the blood of little children on their hands. and what would this fucktard say when an armed teacher went apeshit and used his gun on his students before killing himself?

IMO guns are the catalyst, making things illegal and putting more control on them hasn't been the most effective route to stop anything from happening, ever... Cutting off multiplying heads on this issue. I don't believe guns should be in every house, but I also don't believe that people shouldn't be allowed to own one if they please. People are going to get them no matter what. Make a gun illegal, next it'll be a bomb, then a broadsword ect...

This is pretty damn sickening. Those parents must be devastated.

So no comments on my wifi-gun idea? Maybe I should patent it

I also had an idea of a knife phone, so if someone breaks into your house, if you have multiple phones around the house, you can call the cops and surprise attack them with the phone itself.

your idea doesn't make any sense considering almost every cheap gun available has no electronic components whatsoever. also some of the best guns that don't jam that are under $200 are old revolvers, the revolver design has been around since handguns were first invented and haven't changed much at all since

USB Guns, it would be a new feature for gun owners who only want to have one for home protection and dont want anyone grabbing them and going to some school to shoot people.

What about hunters?

They still have that right. Our species (and others) have been hunting for millions of years. And long guns like rifles and shotguns, and even some handguns make it more efficient to do so.

We just need to make sure a highly reclusive young male like Adam Lanza can't access them.

i cant stop laughing at this

it's like we're in some sort of dystopian future

o72uL.png

everyone who advocated putting more guns in schools in order to fight off mad attackers in this thread has been put on ignore. i am honestly so unusually angry and upset right now.

Why is it always that with this types of tragedies the argument turns into a gun argument? are we really that simple and stupid to think is that black and white? are we really so gullible that the media controls our arguments as a society?

Maybe deaths could have been prevented by having gun control but little could have prevented this guy from going insane and killing a bunch of people. In my opinion we should spend more time exploring the psychology of the shooter and figure out a way to prevent/predict insane moments like the one in CT by preventing mentally unstable people from reaching that point (either with medication, therapy or whatever).

Its so easy to blame this on things like guns and video games, thats the easy way out, the safe opinion. Watching you guys (and people on facebook) keep mentioning guns is making me so aggravated, you guys are just following the media storyline, people will argue about guns for a while then they'll forget about the whole thing and nothing will be accomplished because the real arguments, the arguments that could matter are not being discussed.

By turning this tragedy into a gun argument we are missing way more important points, we are making the same mistake we did before, and when the next tragedy comes we'll make the same mistake again.
