The only module that never got open source is Beads 

Imagine running a business all by yourself in the Covid-19 time doing everything to serve the customers needs and building and chasing chips and parts.. 
Cannot been a walk in the park! I don't say this is the reason she ended all but worth thinking about. 

Very kind to the community! A friend of mine is building Mutable clones much smaller and half the price of the original but works 100% as the original modules.

Yoo ES-9 from Expert Sleepers is fucking dope and I will get it as my new DC-coupled Sound Interface. 

I have talked with many people who is using it together with AUM from the Ipad and they saying it is the best solution ever connecting software with modular. 
There is also an app u can send control voltages and even calibrate your VCO's and stuff from your Ipad via the ES-9! 

I will probably try to hook it up with Max as well but I don't have much info on that part. Would love to make a sequencer for it controlling stuff from max.

If I had do everything over again with arround 400$ in my pocket and choosing a DAW/Music tool I would totally go for Ableton Suite as it has Max for Live
So u can integrate with what u create in max with a proper DAW. A built in sequencer+recorder (timeline) is what I miss with Max, otherwise I like it alot.

meanwhile i would pay $5 for a decent google search result about a problem/question in puredata that isn't from 2010 or older...

Yes totally off-putting and plugdata is getting very evolving now 

People are like "yeah but u can go 100% codebox on max 9" like okey why even bother to do the graphical patching enviroment then lol

You can also get Max 9 for half off ($199) if you have Ableton Suite. I'm tempted but I haven't done enough in Max or Max for Live to justify it yet.

I absolutely love Max/MSP, but I agree with the price and stuff... Damn, I wish I was better at SuperCollider, but I believe it has a steeper learning curve! If some WATMMer makes some tutorials I'd be eternally grateful

same here….& the little intro video hints that 9 may be a lot more approachable to non-Max superusers, tho that may just be the blur of marketing/overview…curious to hear/see some impressions or tutorials on 9 if any come up soon. there’s seemingly nothing on YT yet, i haven’t delved into the reading tho

I have the full license of Max 8 but I have been using max so little to be upgrading. 
I have only see some cool video graphic maybe an update on jitter or whatever but nothing seems really like "wow so major"

it's just been something you set up ahead of time. it's not hard. and once you make that thing you can easily reuse it.

Heard some users experience alot of bugs in max 9 so I think I will just stay with max 8

Unfortunately agreed. Think they do sales at the same time Ableton does so will hold out till then probably before I grab this new version. I'm not deep enough of a user to warrant the need of those new features and the Ableton modules I can use with .... well Ableton

I spent the whole summer with max and while really enjoying it, it was only when i went back to the daw that i cranked out a solid listenable 6 track album. don't think the deeper aspects are for me but the easier stuff is great. the abl devices look right up my street in this respect as i don't have ableton. when the discount comes i'll defo consider it

I love the new illustration mode. If like me you generate / mangle tons of lists on the fly then it's a blessing to double-check dataflow.
