Do you think this vinyl would be good to buy incase they run out of stock for re-selling later

Like with BoC and RDJ originals. Or do they not rise much in value to those insane prices?

I'd say no. The long preorder time means there's no intial rush, everyone who wants one can have one, then there's all the shop stock too. Oversteps was done in the same way i think, and that's currently selling slightly below its original price.

In the long term it would be a reasonable item to have (especially if it remains sealed) but that could take years, decades.

it reminds me of when i was a little kid my mom bought the game 'snake dance' for my sister and I. As soon as we got in the door i ravenously just tore the package apart like a wild animal, with absolutely no regard for keeping it's original container. From that point on my mom would tell me not to pull a 'snake dance' with any board games she got for us. I still havent lived it down. I think last time we opened presents at christmas she said 'snake dance'

Foil I scanned the discs themselves and the sleeves as I didn't know what you were asking for, duh. Which format should I upload them in?

The front for Disc 2 is a bit tilted EDIT: first pic is not loading in my computer so here it is http://imgur.com/fh2mBmC

Thank you very much! :flower:

You should totally upload these to discogs for the cd version. They're really nice looking. Way better than most of the scans on there. http://www.discogs.com/Autechre-Exai/release/4338144

lol, I was that type of kid too.

Snake dance should be the new jazz band.

As expected the product looks way better than the image file. It's really very nice this one. The rough texture of the paper is definitely fitting, over something more smooth and glossy. It's a good measure to keep the info sticker on (for the most part). I always liked the idea of concentrating the text onto one specific surface, and putting it in a corner on the back is pretty cool.

I'm very pleased by the inner sleeves how the overlapped colors form an outline of the shapes, and extends to a single third shape somewhere on each side. I lolled at the back of the third sleeve (side F) where the green block totally overruns the copyright info.

The only identifiers on the vinyl disks is the inverted color shapes that make the foundation of the sleeve into the main object on the disc. I may stop paying attention to how I put the discs back in so that next time I can give myself a fun mini puzzle to get the side I want. I noticed that the shapes of some of the disc images run down and wrap into the other side (like side B). Kinda messed with my conception of the disc separated into sides. Man, the packaging of this is just so fun.

Oh shit! I didn't even pay attention to the centre labels. I knew there would be some identifying feature though.

I really love this design now that I've seen it on the vinyl version. The typesetting, the overprinting of colours, the uneven squares, and the paper stock are all excellent. Even the typeface really does it for me. Then again, tdr have always used awesome typefaces.

Even though the cover art itself is no draft 7.30, I think the overall design of the packaging is the best they've ever had

I love this artwork quite a lot. I like the sleeve stuff going on, similar to what they did with the special edition Quaristice album. It's like a mini-vinyl package. I seriously would consider getting the Vinyl because of how sexy it is but the completionist in me would not be satisfied until I owned every Ae vinyl and I have a feeling I'll never find the vinyls for the early stuff. Love the artwork to death though, especially the inner sleeves and the disc printings themselves. I was having an Ae boner and inspecting all of my Autechre CDs today and decided to take this pic. 20 Years of Ae:

Oh and please tell me if I'm missing something. I'd love to somehow get Quadrange into a jewel case with the cover artwork but I haven't decided the best way to do that yet.

awesome when looked at like that.

i notice you're missing Spangle though!

What is spangle?

an AE remix of a Seefeel song. it was released on cd by itself...i managed to pick up a copy years ago, it's a great track.

not sure if it's still available, and since it's technically a remix it's not necessary for your collection there, but it's a great track, worth finding one way or another. sounds like something from Garbage.

Got mine today from Amazon, kind of don't understand how it was only $9.99 for a brand new double album...

Love it though, great to hear the tracks in full quality, those iTunes ones were seriously compressed!

Well it takes about a day or two to ship from here to BC so assuming that's where you are I'd be surprised if you don't have it by Friday.

Yah, on Vancouver Island... friday came and went, still no physical Exai :wtf: Fuck bleep! :trashbear:

Yeah I can't get over how amazing this CD envelope is. I really hope they continue to do this whole mini-vinyl packaging for CDs. I think I've already said this in here though.

I am glad I never started this thread tbh as the Exai artwork is superb, as I said in the beginning (hheheh)

The packaging and design is excelent, the artwork not so much.

agreed. the packaging is well executed physically, but the artwork itself is boring & ugly.

maybe more of a Breakout-type thing, where Exai has more of a Tetris (rough) look.
