I finally got this annoying-ass piece of food dislodged from my bottom wisdom tooth extraction site that's been stuck in there the last two days. Pretty sure it was from one of those plantain chips I ate over the weekend.

When I got my bottomies removed the dentist gave me a couple of syringes with slightly angled tips to rinse out the excavation sites. Was quite handy.

friend comes to my flat out of nowhere to give me tiramisu for no other reason than to give me tiramisu, then i get bored after eating a few and think shit i really want to change up my hair so i go to the barbers and i now have the nicest haircut i've ever had

as a non-native english speaker I had to look up torrid, and it says "very hot and dry?" and for British is "full of difficulty" none of which paint me the picture I had initially imagined upon reading your post.

Sorry I think torrid love affair is an 'merican expression, like tempestuous where a couple is fighting one moment and making love the next.

It's definition #2 here, they even use love letters for in the example

Drilled through 8" of concrete and plumbed out a new fixture for the attached 'greenhouse'. No more having to bring a hose in through a door and having to deal with outdoor fixtures freezing in the winter. 

It's not pretty, but it's built well and functional. 

I figured out that if you mix apple brandy with apple cider vinegar and tonic water then it tastes just like apple cider at a fraction of the cost.

I got to drive on the sidewalk today (because an ambulance was obstructing the road).

Made the biggest recycling dump run I have in years this morning. Maybe ever.

There's been other project/hobby-type shit lingering on my mind for over a year now that I've been meaning to learn but keep putting off, but at least I accomplished something today.

after months of only using my PC when absolutely necessary -- due to an extremely noisy, ear-piercingly squeaky, insanity-inducing GPU fan that I cannot find a replacement for outside of Chinese websites (and the last one I ordered never even arrived ffs), and amid the scalper's paradise that is the GPU market in this decade, a buddy donated an old GPU from 2012 to my cause. while very little gaming will be happening on this thing, I CAN MAKE MUSIC AGAIN

Building manager finally serviced the water system, and this afternoon I had my first consistently hot shower since moving.  Fucking finally!

Successfully registered for an online course which is basically computer programming for beginners (based on Python). Doesn't start until another month from now, but it'll be my first university course since graduating a decade ago.

I think I may do this more often, it feels pretty good  

I do sometimes think I glide close to territory that makes me wonder if I’m some jibbering alcoholic  

(actually I did go to an AA meeting once about 10 years ago, and I realised real quick that I wasn’t an alcoholic, these guys were in an entirely different league to me. I got the impression that one sip of the wine and then next thing they’d  wake up in a ditch 3 days later having left a trail of destruction behind them that they had no recollection about)
