my pi theory is shit because a LOT of random 5 digit numbers pop up in 3.14........100,000th decimal place.

I did lookup the BOC codes on a million-digit pi listing and they did all show up, but probabilistically you would expect them to.

One thing I couldn't find a tool for is to look up a single digit of pi based on position. Might be worth looking up, say the 717228th digit of pi, the 936557th, etc.

Is there an NME out today? Anyone looked through it?

That came out about 2 or 3 months back (re-release of a compilation that also came out on Irdial some years ago)

It would be so awesome if I would stumble on one of those BOC lps in a record store. I would immediatly buy it. Then I would take pictures of it, right next to a piece of paper that says "I DONT EVEN OWN A RECORD PLAYER", which is true. I would take pictures of it while I place it on my mat, while I use it as a hat, while I put it on my cat. While my grandma holds it. While I let it float in the little pond in my yard. Maybe draw a little mustache underneat the ---/--- thing. And to end the photoshoot I take the lp out the sleeve and place a glass of cola on it. Then I would frame it and never sell it. I would be the most hated person on the internet. One can only dream.

*dreams*

They're currently plugging it on Twitter. Some of it sounds pretty good, I reckon.

The link goes to the Conet Project product page. Stay classy, Boomklart.

Ah I see. Taking advantage of the opportunity the BoC mystery offers ;-)

It's a mad CD. I'd not heard of number stations before seeing this release. Very eerie stuff a lot of it. Bit expensive though.

For all you guys hyping (or wondering) about number stations here is a documentary about it:

She's from my home town and I vaguely remember her from school because she was at the girls school (and I was at they boys school). She was a sporty tom-boy then, but she is smoking hot now.

she was on 8 out 10 cats joking about taking it in the butt.

anywaaaay...

someone should email/tweet her and ask her if she can solve the numbers.

I was also weirdly aroused when she solved the maths problem on the shaft of that knob she drew.

Carol Vorderman lives near me, perhaps I should pop round?

Nah, she'll probably just try to sell you a debt consolidation loan.

However the next set of numbers arrives, you can be sure that Warp will make them easy to find.

People need to move away from the idea that this is a sort of cryptic search for some great mystery. It's not. It's a promotional campaign to sell a product.

It's been very cleverly put together though. Kudos to whoever thought it up.

truth

Guys,

Do you know how easy it would be to press your own vinyl, package it with an official looking SKU, upload some crappy YouTube videos a few years in advance, and ask BBC1 and NPR to cooperate by playing some cryptic stuff? Obviously a fake guys. Obviously Chaosmachine's birthday tape 2.0.
