Except Steinvord was officially released a year and a half earlier than the D'arcangelo record and I believe the Cyg track was one of the originals on the Myspace page... is that right? Which would date it much earlier.

 

This. Im pretty sure cyg x-1 (formerly an "untitled" track) was on myspace, back in early 2008. Btw, this track sounds nothing like Aphex Twin, Squarepusher or anyone else.

This is one of my favorites. Love how it gets really intense at the end, then the spacey pads suddendly come. I still wish I could get a proper digital copy of these, sold my decks and the rips just dont cut it.

Kinda makes me believe theres this sort of gescom situation where a bunch of friends freely build and use each others material.

its RDJ I think. its too fascinating and good to be from squarepusher I dont want to be offending but thats how I see it. If its from squarepusher, its the best thing he ever did and outdid himself imho

the intensity and the details in the drums sounds like aphex twin drukqs era but sounds way less clean and less well produced. I think its a desired affect to have that tone down sound quality. The lesser sound quality fits with the way steinvord songs are composed. It has this simplicity in the composition that ive never heard from aphex but that you can hear in the tuss.

I love steinvord.

The composition in steinvord is so simple, yet so effective. it shows a simplicity and a maturity in the style that is really special imo and that ive never heard before.
