A few more listens and this album now has its hooks in me, in a way Scintilli never quite managed. The only two tracks I've yet to really get into are 'Oh' and 'Tether', which I find simply very good. As for the rest, I find it hard to describe how great they are without using expletives. This is my favourite Plaid work since P-Brane and Spokes, and possibly surpasses the latter. Also looking to getting the Japanese CD. Only heard a snippet of 'Away', but their Japanese bonus tracks to date have been pretty much bang-on.

Very likely album of 2014 for me.

Yeah it's really good timing too, it's been a while since I've heard an album like this.

I didn't think it was going to be that good, but it really is a dope sound that they've perfected.

I'm not really bothered about those comments that it doesn't sound like "new" or whatever, I think when you get good like Plaid you develop a distinct sound. All the pros have it even Aphex Twin records are so clearly identifiable as his music.

That track wallet is so perfect.

The wubby bass around 2 mins 30 secs into Nafovanny is friggin' exquisite

Is it just me or does Nafovanny have the beat from NIN Closer? Let me clarify and say that I'm leaning toward it not just being me.

And thank you Plaid for reminding Warp what they are supposed to sound like.

3:20 not, 2:30 :music: yep, best part of the album. unexpected deep. the whole album is a grower, not that great the first or second time.

The section that kicks off at 2 mins 36 seconds is indeed the best part of the album. Matin Lunaire is also damn fine

The beat on Nafovanny instantly stuck out to me as sounding like Closer, and my boyfriend independently thought so too.

I think this is a great album, I've listened to it dozens of times. My only worry is that it is too immediate and my enjoyment will fade. It's not a grower, and I'm more accustomed to cherishing those kinds of albums. But I'm being silly.

Yeah the only problem I have with this one is that I love it too much. It's too good so I'm afraid I might get tired of some of the tracks after a while (sooner than I'd like).

I'm gonna remix the fuck out of Tether and drop it in the cluuuuuub. So excited to have Plaid stems.

Are those stems still available anywhere? Would be fun to have a muck around.

Have not listened. From someone who actually knows, how is this compared to Heaven's Door?

It blows it out of the water in terms of quality but is not as 'soundtracky' as HD.

2 things:

1-This album is really quite nice. Best I've heard in years.

2-It's weird to hear reviews and tweets referring to Plaid as 'veterans' and 'elder statesmen' and whatnot. It makes me feel old and the internet should just knock that shit off.

I work in a record store and one of my colleagues is in his early 20s. He's into electronic music but if it came out in the 90s he's clueless. FSOL? Orb? Ae? Plaid? Nope!

His knowledge skips from the 70s to the 2000s. I always feel like an old fucking man lol.
