I do admit that it's a bit of a thrill when I discover that someone in their 20s has never heard Aphex, BoC, Squarepusher, etc. Makes me feel like a learned shaman if they end up enjoying it.

The closing track is the only dud, it doesn't even fit the sound of the album imo.

agreed, the rest of the album is their best since p-brane, methinks

I dig this album more than Scintilli, although I didn't really listen to it that much.

same here, never quite got into it

I didn't dig scintilli at all until about a month and a half ago. I gave it a thorough listen and it's quite good, dark and a little disturbing. Extremely well produced in my opinion.

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

If ppl are gonna continue to poop on the brilliance of Liverpool St then allow me to retort that Oh sounds like plaid at their most adult-contemporary and features a mandolin solo.

Even still I quite like it along with the rest of this album. Well done lads!

Have not listened. From someone who actually knows, how is this compared to Heaven's Door?

It blows it out of the water in terms of quality but is not as 'soundtracky' as HD.

quality? i hope you're not pulling a protools-bro-out on me right now.

i would rather listen to a Heaven's Door at 128 than something hifi and flacid

I will give it 5.0

Well, I gave it a 7.2. It's same same but still greatly produced: http://www.hhv-mag.com/de/review/6507/plaid-reachy-prints

so you are telling me it has a tune as catchy as Non Hoi? Or a tune as vibrant as Tokyo Drive? If so, which?

Really enjoying this album. It is indeed a slight return to their classic style. I've loved everything they've released (Spokes being the one I was not really into), but this feels a lot more care-free and light than Scintilli, which I thought was great but heavier in some way.

When the conversation first came up about the album's length, I was on the side that thought 40 minutes was fine (the optimal album length for me is 40-50 minutes). But on my first listen it did seem to end abruptly, and I wasn't ready! I wanted more! But I'd much rather be left wanting more, and play the album over and over, than have it drag on beyond its welcome and not listen to it as much. That said, I could stand for another 10 minutes - whether that means extending a few of the tracks or adding another 1-2 tracks. Still, can't complain - it's beautiful!

IYO, which tracks?

Nothing specific, I just felt as a whole after 5-6 listen through's that it held up more than Heaven's Door. Then again, I'm a bit biased towards soundtracks as they usually lack in the hook department.
