This is implausible, as the loss means they have to win against Uruguay. And Uruguay are a very different side with Suarez on the pitch.

Costa Rica the true dark horse in this tourney.

Success of the premier league is the downfall of England's national team, start capping amount of foreign players and get more homegrown talent or be fucked forever.

Horseshit, England have been shite long before now.

If England wanted to do well, they'd fire Woy, put a modern manager in charge (someone like AVB or Martinez) and go with the youth in the team for the next euros.

The one thing they can't control for is having a shit goalkeeper.

More or less. England also have no technically gifted or well-rounded centre halves in an era of football where that's more important than ever. The whole "get stuck in!" mentality of the English game is basically hilarious and primitive.

^^^^

True - Smalling can play that role somewhat, but after that...pffft. I still prefer Jones as an attack minded DM, Terry was good at it, but he's a racist wife-fucker, so I guess he can't play football for his country.

If only we could get Welsh or Norther Irish in....

Nothing on the Germany-Ghana game in here? I only got to watch part of it...but the Germans looked super tired.

I wonder if having so many players playing deep into the CL had an effect on the side.

Anyways shocking result.

lol spain decided to show up when it don't matter.

Netherlands looked good, although a little suspicious again at the back.

the Portugal-USA match - several things - POrtugal was playing without Pepe and Coentrao, Postiga went off very early to be replaced by a useless forward (Eder). I have much love for Bruno Alves - but he's never been the fastest defender - and last night he looked incredibly slow. Plus they have the disadvantage of having Nani in the side and C.Ron looked like he genuinely didn't give a fuck.

Still, a gutsy performance by the Americans who are very well organized by Kilnsmann. They stand a strong chance of winning their second round match, assuming they go through (which I think they should, unless the netherlands wins by 4 or more and the US loses, although I'm sure Klinsmann is on the phone to Loew to ensure a draw so they both go through).

The US has a pretty good chance of not going through though. I think they're most likely to make it through, but if Ghana wins against Portugal (likely) and the US loses against Germany (also likely) then we're probably not going to make it.

Third time's a charm - maybe Chiellini will turn into a vampire now as well. Seriously needs to be banned for that shit.
