I hope Colombia will Rodriguez the fuck out Brazillians in the next round, As I predicted earlier, Howard Webb was gold, no penalties, huge drama at the end, this is what I expect from the World Cup. The drama.

I thought Brazil played with much more intent in the extra time, barring the last 3 minutes. Unlucky with the crossbar for Pinilla. Julio Cesar played very well though, still a class keeper.

Tough to say either team deserved to lose.

Colombia look great, they'll be much fresher for the match with Brazil. That game should be more excellent craziness.

Anyways a great first day of elimination football.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

I'm excited to see how many games the USA can fumble their way through. Given the antics from the group stage, I'd say they have a very small chance of making it to the final.

Neymar got nerves, either way Brazil was in deep waters now

nah he was good. took a heavy knock but played on and took a really ballsy penalty. sounds like he might be an injury doubt

I'd say there is more chance of Aphex Twin releasing three triple albums within the next week than the US making the final.

Then again, I've been wrong about most things so far this world cup.

Nah, they could potentially beat both Belgium and Argentina, and all four teams they would play in the semifinal are probably easier than those two. I'm not saying it's likely, but I'm saying it's tangibly possible. Now, winning the final they have basically no chance of.

edit2:

Wait, I had the brackets wrong. We could make it the the semi finals potentially, but I doubt the final.

Mexico is playing way better than the Netherlands right now. Robin's edit:Robben (lol) had some good runs though.

Yeh, Mexico is the better team. Playing smarter. More threatening when they have the ball. If the Netherlands have the ball, you can take a nap....zzzzzzzzz

Hate to say it, but the Mexicans deserve to go to the next round.

I was so excited to see Mexico win.

I was bummed they had to confront each other this earlier, I was hoping both would get far, but I was rooting for the Dutch and that finish was awesome.

LVG was pulling some smart moves as well. Changing system back and forth. And with a player like Kuyt anything is possible. Either Mexico ran out of steam, or they just couldn't keep up with the changing positions of the players they were covering.

Feels like Mexico lost to LVG...

Robben is a cunt and I don't like him. But he was the best cunt on the pitch today and NED fought back. Still would have liked Mexico to go through, oh well.

Costa Rica better win for football's sake. But I am sure Greece will luck into a 1-0 win and it will be awful.

Robben still got it!

He was fouled. It was late and sloppy and while small and enhanced it was absolutely call-worthy.

Also let's not forget he was fouled TWICE earlier in the game before the 1st half was over. The ref probably thought it was a collision and let it go. Hilariously the Mexican player who had the first nasty slide tackle (which made absolutely NO contact with the ball) got injured in the process.

Robben's a talented cunt and historic diver but Mexico was flopping and bitchin' all over the place. One got a yellow for dissent and on one occasion, a player kicked the ball away after a foul was called for the Dutch, typical cheap little bullshit. The Dutch mostly stayed quiet and played on.
