I'm sorry man. I can't justifying debating with someone that is behaving the way that you do. You posted a picture of her as if it's relevant. I think it's really gross to behave this way, saying the things you're saying, and holding this position. I hope that whatever it is that is inspiring this within you changes, because you are pretty smart. I don't know if you have a spiritual issue. people have treated you like shit. whatever it may be, but you should try to find peace and love in your life. That's quite a stretch. "Shit happens", is when someone pulls a gun on you and you have to drop them because you're a cop. Or when you have to go to a crime scene and there's a dead kid or whatever horrible thing you can imagine. Shit happens isn't cops pulling people from their vehicles without giving them the ability to comply, or even attempting to resolve the situation peacefully. Shit happens isn't officers out on the streets who think in the terms of, "You're a dumb bitch."

 

The man in question actually says that the cops attacked him and given the response and callous nature of the police in dealing with this woman I'm inclined to side with him. Anyhow, the charges were dropped and she is suing the city, so I guess someone agreed that these cops behaved badly/did not have justification for their actions.

 

The cops are out of control in this country. They are poorly trained, they operate in an overreaching manner as an extension of our corrupt government. Their job is extremely important, and there are droves of people out on the streets protesting this reoccurring issue of them escalating situations to violence and even unjustifiable killings. Being "on something" is not a reason to treat someone like shit. They are PEACE officers. SERVE AND PROTECT. Just as I don't believe in heavy-handed administrating I think that all levels of control should operate in the least intrusive manner they can. That means trying to resolve situations without escalation. That means using force as a last resort. They function to help normal citizens, and to bring true criminals to justice. They are not meant to create criminals which is something they do too often. The entire system needs to be restructured.

 

It's really easy to say, "shit happens" when the shit isn't happening to you. Then you want people to care about your well-being.

But the first post seemed an intentional effort to create conflict, and it seems to be a reoccurring behavior. It's my opinion. I don't have an issue with people disagreeing with me generally. She was filming from a car which was clearly standing still. The cop was yelling at her to pull over and later came with the trying to run over a police officer claim. My read of the situation is that the accusation of the cop was complete bullshit. They saw her filming and they knew the possible consequences seeing the current shit that happening.

And the current question might: could it indeed be the case that cops can make up accusations on the spot so they can get away with just about anything. Knowing they will be supported by other cops present at the scene. My belief is that practices like these have become deeply part of police culture.

Whether or not she is a dumb bitch is irrelevant. But what is relevant is the lack of respect from the cop calling her a dumb bitch. Again, i believe thats a sign of culture.

She was sitting in her car and the cop clearly was not interested in having to go into a discussion of why she should get out of her car (even though its probably the case, in my read of the situation, that the running over cop claim was complete bullshit).

sure. the prosecutors dropped charges because of a lack of evidence. I don't know what you're hearing, but apparently it wouldn't hold in court, according to the prosecutors.

 

either way, letting a foot of the break is not the same as accelerating towards a cop or whatever the charge was. there is no excuse for cops being aggro, as far as i'm concerned. if anything, their role is to de-aggro any situation instead of the other way around.

 

point 3 and 4 of your argument are made without any evidence. at least, that's what the prosecutors appear to say. she's filing a lawsuit, so we'll find out soon what's factual and what isn't, don't we?
