don't know if there are many alt country/americana fans here, but Justin Townes Earle put out some pretty decent albums. I liked the 2 he put out a few years ago "Single Mothers" and "Absent fathers." I didn't know much about his personal story, I'm guessing it could have been drug related:

heard about that. i'm familiar w/his father's music more than his. didn't know he was here in portland. i guessed drug related when i heard the news too but who knows. they've haven't said in the stories i've read. he'd been in portland w/his wife/kid since 2017 or so.

I realized I had a few mutual friends with Gale, they all had pretty much the same sentiment and nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Really big loss and untimely death.

fuck. he was diagnosed 4 years ago. wtf. colon cancer diagnosis at 39 is the fucking suck. 

no one knows when they're gonna go but at 39 getting the expiration date moved up by decades when you're on the verge of becoming a huge star and being on top of the world etc etc.. is just so shitty and weird as fuck to experience. 

RIP and Fuck Cancer.

btw they changed the recommended age of colonoscopy to 45. it was 50. so, insurance companies are catching up to it but they're not all paying for it yet.. so, er if you're over 45 go get your scope done.
