I haven't listened to it in ages, but I though Movement was pretty dull at the time. This is a huge progression.

I find the whole ASMR thing really interesting, for one its something I do get in real life.. normaly at work when someone is brong the fuck out of me and am trying to look interested but any pleasurable effects of it and normally cancelled out by them boring me! Also sometimes get on the phone but never really get it from the ASMR videos. My wife loves the videos though so I often end up listening to them when were falling alseep and they can be kinda relaxing

Also its kinda weird how its evolved and some people are doing some different shit than pretty girls giving you an eye exam or whatever. Find this fella pretty interesting

His margret videos are pretty freaky!

anyhow back on Holly - I also often skip lonely at the top, its alright but fucks up the flow of the album should be at the end maybe. Also wish she had added more actual music to it rather than it just being a straight up ASMR thing. Anyhow still loving this album and agree its a big step up from Platform which was interesting but a little lacking in places. Really interested where she goes next with her music

its definitely her most accomplished sounding work, denser and more layered than her previous 'Movement'. My favorite of hers is still a conceptual record she did called 'Car'. The concept was pretty straight forward, and thats why i like it. Hoping she does something else similar in the future, meaning just a very honed in singular instrumental concept album

Mike P's interview on RBMA is how it should be done. I don't know, I'm old as fuck - her music videos seem like pretentious bullshit to me, but you know, that's just like, my opinion dude.

OP claims that Holly is our favorite IDM waifu, but I this it deserves deeper consideration.

edit: I also thought her stuff was mostly academic wank till this album. Gotta revisit movement soon.

I think the irl anime comment was aimed at that cherry crush thing that was doing the amsr videos? I dunno I switched that off after about 20 seconds cause ugh,if I wanted to listen to stupid, I'd put on a Kanye West track.

i like holly and her music, and the comment i made about anime was not about holly and instead was about who watches amsr videos ....an off color reference to the very odd line M Night Shyamalan wrote for Sam Jackson to say in Unbreakable where he tells a customer "do you see a little asian child with a blank expression on his face sitting outside of a mechanical helicopter"

Ya man, anything could happen. She's working on a Ph D at Stanford right now and just imaging all the resources there to create music is daunting.

Also, her situation is pretty lush. 5 years at Stanford, everything payed for, teaching and taking classes there while doing music. I know it's very busy and definitely not a cakewalk but damn, she has it made
