Denver tomorrow! I'm popping my live ae cherry!

See you there! Swing by a 420 store, sushi joint, voodoo doughnut, etc while you're nearby :)

Hmmm sushi and weed. I always put myself in a food coma after smoking and sushi.

any idea which night this recording is from?

I'm somewhat certain that that's the DC show. Everything seems to line up exactly how that show did. If it is the DC one, then I'm very happy it got recorded.

Thanks, all I knew is that it wasn't the Chicago show. :emotawesomepm9:

Last gig of the tour todaY!
Wish I was able to see them on more than one occasion, but overall so grateful to be able to have taken apart in this tour.

Very glad to have joined this community and to have been able to follow the tour through these threads. Looking forward to the future for autechre, and what they will do next.

I had a great time at the SF show!!! I felt like I was dancing around in a giant teseract! Hung with some WATMMs before and after the show! Shout-outs to Braintree, JDub and SPD! Beautiful venue though I would say 1015 Folsom is better overall since the stage is at the center rather than tucked into the corner.

1015 would be not ideal for other reasons though, the layout is better but the sound imo is not that good. Its very loud / powerful and bassy but there is so much space inside (high ceilings) that it ends up sounding more like a rock concert sound system rather than clean club one. The middle room with the low ceiling at 1015 sounds fucking amazing though, but no headliner ever plays in there.
have you been to Public works or Gafta? The Gafta sound system is easily the cleanest/loudest system i've ever heard in the bay area, Robert Henke did Lumiere there the night before I saw Autechre, the bass was so loud/lasers so bright at points that I felt like i was going to be injured.

Where were you guys at the LA show. Didn't get to meet anyone

i was there mid-floor but a bit too drunk to really want to scan for specifics. i had the unfortunate pleasure of being immediately in front of a dude who kept trying to clap and woooo! through the entire fucking set

I have been to Public Works for Mathew Jonson and was impressed with the space. Would've been a much more intimate experience as well since the performer booth is on ground level as I recall.

i mean AE can make a halfway decent sound system sound amazing, and they did last night. It was just obvious they were pushing the sound system pretty hard and it wasn't very loud compared to what i think people are used to with SF sound these days, even a small club like F8 feels louder. It wasn't distorted but you could tell it was sort of 'at the limit'. They did a phenomenal job of making it sound as best as it could possibly sound though. but i really think they deserve to play at a better space, the security people at Mezzanine are just weird too, they walk into the crowds for no reason to check it out way too often, they just feel pushier than other clubs. The only reason I can think of that Mezzanine is their go-to is the capacity of the space, but even still Public Works has probably more capacity and Gafta definitely does it would be absolutely incredible to hear an AE set on the Gafta sound system. Other theory is that maybe they want to have a certain repoire or level of trust with these clubs so they know someone isn't going to sneak a soundboard recording. Is it the case in other cities they've played the same venue when they came to town in 2005 and 2008?

So it's done. First time I've seen Ae live, and hands down the best live musical performance I've ever attended. Went to the first three shows with Sweepstakes.

BTW shout-out to the Vancouver WATMM crew we met up with: chenGOD, Entorwellian, StephenG and his bro, Anna K, and Audioblysk. That was an awesome night. Hope we can meet up again someday.

And of course big shout-outs to Philip Washington, Rob Hall, Rob Brown, and Sean Booth for making it happen. Whatever your next move or release will be, I'm eager for it. Keep on rockin'

Nerd alert:

That bit-we-all-love in the promo was played in a highly extended way at the Dublin gig last year - check these rough comparisons - nearly twice as long - gorgeous!

But i love the bit crushing version in Utrecht.

I think noticing how this track has been tweaked across all recent and earlier sets is a good indication of the "liveness" of Ae's setup, which to me is top notch

Promo track times:

Dub: 28.40 - 35.26
Utrecht: 26 - 30.12
Boston: 20:12 - 23:25
NH: 19.15 - 23.55

Thanks for posting the relevant parts from the sets. It does leave me a bit dissatisfied though. No matter how good some of these recordings can be, I miss the level of detail present in the actual sounds. I'd like to hear the music in full glory. Not in "I called in and recorded the sounds over telephone line" quality.
