if 'elseq' is their twelfth, then the album title must refer to the number 12 in some way

No it doesn't. How does Untilted refer to 8?

There's definitely some ghosts of prior albums in here

foldfree has those lovely waterlogged percussion sounds from Pir

7th slip the melody actually reminds me a bit of of Foil

end of acdwn2 reminds me The Trees a lot

does it say anywhere that this is a series of eps?

seems like ae are taking the opportunity to ditch constraints of antiquated categorizations

these are bleep products

I'm fine with the format, fine with the price, and extremely grateful to Autechre for all the new music recently.

elseq, for me, hits a lot of sweet spots and feels satisfying. Looking forward to unpacking it all over the summer.

I always loved those reverby sounds on the Confield bonus track MCR Quarter which is why I cant get enough of Artov Chain. I can listen to those noises all day long.

I still don't really know how quaristice means 9

quar istice = 4 space

on a 3x3 grid of 9 squares there are 4 center spaces whose edges each touch a square

This seems a bit of a stretch but the catalog number of Quarstice is WARP333

yeah it's wicked, it's like a modern version of early 2000s idm "lush chords underneath super fucked percussion"

I think foldfree casual is a good example of how this format allows each song to relax into its own space. It's allowed nearly 6 minutes before the beat come tumblin in. At first I was somewhat of the feeling that a lot of these tracks were superfluously long but now I have begun to hear them like captive animals that have been set loose to be respected on their own terms.

That makes sense, as cat numbr is 512.1 to 512.5,

Also elseq is 5 x 12"

so essentially the structure of those catalogue numbers is 5-12-1, 5-12-2, 5-12-3, 5-12-4, 5-12-5
