I saw a teenage boy on the bus wearing a hoody that said "virginity rocks". Cool dude...

Maybe he prefers virgins

Or fucking virgins...

I was just at the dollar store and some dancing crack head tripped me by accident; he then walked up to me and started mumbling to me while continuing to dance. It was kinda funny actually :cisfor:

An in-depth read on YouTube's "adpocalypse" and the mass demonetization of original content creators (from last April, but still quite relevant): https://www.theverge.com/2019/4/5/18287318/youtube-logan-paul-pewdiepie-demonetization-adpocalypse-premium-influencers-creators

I think everybody's in consensus that YouTube's execs are shady scumbags by sucking up to Hollywood and other corporate outlets and denying amateur creators the opportunity to blossom in a lucrative way, no matter how hard these creators try to make their videos advertiser friendly. Plus YouTube Rewind is pretty much dead now, since YTR 2018 become the most disliked video on the platform's history. Could have been the most viable form of retaliation at the time from the grassroots community.

And now there are increasing calls for an exodus to an alternative video platform. I've heard of BitChute, but it's too plagued by alt-right propaganda. There has to be another. Maybe this next decade will provide the answer.

The only ad that I'm conscious of being influenced by is that one coke ad featuring the CG polar bears.  That makes me crave coke every time I see it in the theatre.

Do they still make coke ads with the polar bears?

this is more relevant than ever, getting worse every single day. original creators on youtube and especially animators are the most important and most screwed-over people in the game right now.

I always thought Merzbow makes noise music because it's just fucked up noises and what's not to like about that? But it seems he tries to express the pain of animal cruelty in industrial life stock farming. I for some reason got his email address so I could ask him if that's even true but I don't care about his music enough to do that.

It's kind of a combination of both.  The first decade of his career was just about the pure rebellion of the genre, and was mostly inspired by dada and fetish pornography.  He said in an interview that he wanted his cassettes to feel like really disgusting pornographic images that you'd find on the ground in a dark alley or something like that.  Later on he became more focused on protesting reckless industrial consumption.  The early '90s were kind of a transitory period, both in sound and in ethos.

Gordon Ramsay is widely recognized as the head chef from hell. But do we really know him that well?

A day or two ago I watched one of his YouTube vids on how to chop onions, and decided to employ his method. Turns out I was able to chop the onion more finely that way than I have in the past, although I should probably try peeling off the first layer below the skin first next time.

Plus I hear he's more chill IRL than how he's portrayed on his "reality" cooking show. I guess the rage is just acting and showbiz when it comes down to it.

It would be funny if Chad Kroeger from Nickelback's name was announced over an intercom during some event, but instead they say "Chode Croaker" and everyone laughs, confetti flies through the air while fighter jets soar overhead. Chud Krugger.

Of course he isn't really the way he is on television.  Nobody could actually be that filled with rage and still live a functional life.  Plus, it's edited so you only get all the most intense bits squished into a short television slot.

I recall reading that he secured his place as head-chef at this high-end restaurant by fabricating rumors about the other chef, which got that chef fired.  He boosted/laughed about it in an interview.  Which makes him a grade A piece of shit in my books.  I'm sure his food tastes delicious though.

My mum has cooked a special family New Year’s Day meal. Boring.

All I want to do is go to MacDonalds and slurp down a load of bad food and wash it down with a vanilla milkshake.

Lol

The third Austin Powers movie from 2002 was playing on the TV at my buddy's house after I had woken up from drinking fairly heavily the night before and having consumed leftover pizza and beer for breakfast. Surprisingly I wasn't feeling hungover considering how much I drank on NYE.

But Austin Powers in general...idk. I guess it was most coveted by the American Gen X crowd at the time. But I just wasn't feeling the humor. The whole thing is cringey to me tbh.

They definitely haven't aged well gonky, IMO. I don't think they would have been as cringey (at least I don't recall them being that way) when they were released.

Nah, that's exactly my point. Movies like that don't age well because they're age specific. It's no different really than looking back on classics like Home Alone and thinking.... wtf, this kid is basically an engineer with all these traps and he wasn't smart enough to call 911?

At least we can rule out Trump appearing in another Home Alone movie ever again.
