Kids can be entertaining when you're not the one that has to take care of all the gross stuff and the daily grind of it. Being an uncle ain't bad.

as a fellow uncle i agree with your statement

kids require a lot of patience and energy, at least when they are younger. being an introvert i find my self totally beat after say half a day or so with my nephew...

I also love being an uncle. It's also brought me much closer to my sister.

Hahah as soon as my niece sees me she jumps with joy and it's 'be the dinosaur! be the dinosaur!'

Makes me laugh inside and out. It's a cool thing for sure.

Been going through the Zeppelin discog.  Listening to Physical Graffiti now, and observed Feb 24 (today) also happens to be the date it was released, 1975-style.

It's really long and I'm quite bored tbh.

A lot of their best tracks are on there like Ten Years Gone, In The Light, etc

I think I just wasn't in the right headspace for it.  I'd had a few Zombis, and I'm thinking this would have been a better album to approach sober.  Robert Plant was really grating on me throughout.  Kashmir was still awesome.  I'll give it another try after Coda.

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) spreading throughout the US, creating "zombie deer" according to these very recent reports:

https://www.wyff4.com/article/zombie-deer-disease-reported-in-23-states-may-one-day-pose-threat-to-humans/26517361
https://www.nj.com/news/2019/02/zombie-deer-are-spreading-across-the-country-can-nj-keep-them-away.html

Apparently the disease literally eats away the infected animal's brain over time, and in its late, terminal stages causes heavy salivation, stumbling, severe weight loss, dehydration, excessive urination, and lack of fear towards humans (but not necessarily elevated aggression). So far there's no record of known cases of CWD affecting humans, but the possibility of non-human primates being vulnerable is a lingering risk.

Several YouTube comments I've seen on videos about zombie deer keep mentioning the Korean zombie film Train To Busan (2016), which supposedly starts off with infected deer. I may have to watch it now.

woah I have never seen you post something personal like this. Cool, I love being an uncle as well. I'm the goofy fun (and when they get older 'the eccentric') uncle.

Might be. I remember seeing the film back in 2003. It was ass.

It's so weird the sorts of flaws that listening to mixes through shitty laptop speakers will reveal.  I swear half the time I end up revising "finished" mixes it's because I heard the track play on a lap top, and noticed something no studio monitors or headphones will ever tell me... and it subsequently makes it sound a little better on everything.  Never underestimate the value of a pair of extra shitty lap top speakers.

Apologies for any point this observation may have had.  There's probably a useful mix tips thread somewhere, but I have my go-to 4 or 5 threads that I like to stay loyal to.
